Just to clarify something, for autos when you lauch, you put your foot on the brake and then push the gas until you get up to whatever rpm you want

Just to clarify something, for autos when you lauch, you put your foot on the brake and then push the gas until you get up to whatever rpm you want to launch at. After that you let go of the brake and floor it, correct? This is what I've been doing the whole time, but the guy at Capitol Raceway told me I can't spin my tires at the line. I got kind of confused by that so I thought I might have been trying to launch too hard.
