when i gotta practice on my launches, last time i went, which was the first time in my new 370z i did a 14.1 @101 on a 2.3 60'. Heading to the track tonight, hoping to hit 13.5 if i can get my launches better

honestly i short shifted the 1-2 shift to try to keep from breaking loose i think that is what hurt my trap speed.. and i think i let too much air out of the tires.

Z Drag day St Thomas Drag Way
Ontario Z drag day of Ontario Canada Temp 63.1 370 7 AT Sports Stock tires 19's ( 29 lbs in rear) RT .0040 60 FT 1.9649 330 FT 5.5400 ET @ 594 7.8019 1/8 ET 8.3230 1/8 MPH 86.36 1/4 12.8009 1/4 MPH 110.33 I missed running 12.7's by .0009. Stock tires, with stillen G3, CBE, Berk cats and 4.08 gears. I ran it with a very cool engine and 4th guy down the track. Traction got worse on every pass and in the end the best i good do was 2.1 to 2.3's !!!! It spun the tires in first no matter how i babied it of the line. The real scarry part is 2nd gear. I shiffed at 7300 and when it went into 2nd it spun the tires from 6700 to 7200 and i had to shift into thrid This happens in a split 2nd. ( rev matching is the problem as i had no 2nd gear when the track lost traction). 2nd best pass was a 12.95 @ 110.92. The hotter the moter got the slower the car ran 13.01 to 13.56. After one pass late in the day my oil temp was 230 degres!! The 12.8009 run it was reading 158. It was a great day as the track owner informed me that my reaction time was the best time of the day for all the cars there. I also belive that my car has more RWHP that 291 per my last dyno run. It has to be close to 318 to 320. I improved from 13.2098 to 12.8009. I could not run my roja 19.s with the toyos as i could not get a short valve stem for one of the rims. With those tires it would have gone low 12.7s easy. The 370 is very fast with the 7 AT. but with stock tires are its a major problem. I tried lanching at different rpms and the best was 1000. If i held the gas and the brake at 2000 rpm the car bogged. For all the other guys out here i would love to know how you do it. If i would have had 50 shot or nitrous like the other guy it would have run low 12.3's. Next modes. pulley, headers and tecno square flash. I need some drag radials for this car. Have to find some rims to clear the back brakes in 16 inch. Will keep you guys posted. |
Z eliminator you are the man. I was worried the gear diff. would make the car spin tire all day especially with extra power from the mods but it seems it'll be all right. I'm finally proven right that this car can run with the new m3, good work.

Im not too happy about 2nd gear spinning the tire and having to change to 3rd in about a second or less.
Once the track lost trackion i went up in smoke in first gear for 1/2 of the day and it really spun in 2nd. I had lots of 2.3 60 ft times. If some body sends me there email i will send them my time slip to post and a picture of my car. " PM " me. I may go the track in Mid october with the toyo tires and we will see if we can go quicker. Thanks Steve |

I just worked out the 0 to 60 times for my 370 based on the 1/8 mile and 1/8 et/
8.323 @ 86.36 mph. It works out to 4.02 seconds. Not sure how acurate the formula it is a good indication of what this car will do. |
z eliminator do you feel that the breather mods were more the reason why you got into the 12's vs. the gear diff. I read your post wrong when talking about wheelspin I'm assuming due to the diff. I'm trying to decide whether the gear swap is worth it.
