While waiting for down pipes I started some interior jobs.
I wanted to replace the clock with an oil press gauge. Thinking that it is independence from the remaining two gauges I took it apart and to my surprise all the gauges are linked with one PCB. So there was no other choice but to get rid of all of the gauges. And I didn't feel like taking out the dashboard so I basically had to chop em up bit by bit to get them out. This is a real stupid design on Nissans part! http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/18/judezy3y.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/18/uta4ynuh.jpg With no other choices I had to order another volt and oil temperature gauge. I also put in a steering wheel http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/18/ymytunet.jpg I tapped into the horn signal and I'm going to leave it out by the cup holder to one of the empty slots. Going to install a momentary switch and that will be my horn.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/18/ybu2u7uv.jpg Given that I have more important things to spend money on I'm keeping the stock radio for now. I'm glad it has an AUX IN as I play most of my music from my phone anyway so I permanently routed the wire and made it come out of the arm rest. |
Nice build!
I had plans to replace the clock with an oil pressure gauge later this summer. I didn't realize they were all on one board though! It looks like I'll be mounting it elsewhere. |
Thanks man.
