Default Where can I buy a helmet in LA?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, i figured it's relevant to tracking but maybe it should be in WTB?

Looked at a few threads regarding helmets and it seems like people suggest going to a brick and mortar store to size before buying. Is there anywhere in the LA and OC area I can go to try some on?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Keep em coming, this may be good info for others if they're just getting into tracking as well. Up till now I've just been borrowing helmets but as I do more track events I'd like something more comfortable for all day wear (the helmets I've borrowed have never quite fit right for obvious reasons).

I'm gonna get started tracking the car soon...helmet is something I've been thinking about for a long time. Any good recommendations on a budget conscious SA2010 full face helmet with visor?

Is it worth buying an older/cheaper SA2005?

I think SA certs are good for 10 years so you may have to buy another one in 2 years if you go with a 2005. That's if you're going to sanctioned events.

Yeah i thought they were 10 years also but wasn't sure. I can see why it wouldn't make much sense to get a 2005 so late in the game. I plan on doing HPDE's and maybe some SCCA events.

Wink

I spent alot of time on the track with motorcycles. Alot of tracks have a rule on helmet age. Helmets are good for 5 yrs. Then it's time for a new one. So keep this in mind when buying helmets. Check to see if there is a helmet age rule with who you track with.

You can find the helmet born on date inside the helmet, on the foam liner.

if you are only doing like hpde, and not nasa etc. HJC moto helmet is fine as long as it is certified.., regular hpde no one checks. If you wanna run redline etc, they will check for the sticker.
