Help! Which shocks for stock class auto x
Hello all.
Wondering what people are running for shocks in stock street tire (RTR) class. I've been looking at OTS Koni sports. I do plan on trying to be competitive, poss running San Diego and Nationals in Lincoln, however I've not been this serious about auto x before. I'm wondering if people are running the Koni sports in stock or is absolutely necessary to spend the big bucks. It seems like it's going to be hard to beat the MX5/Soltice no matter what i do and I'll be bummed to spend that kind of money (Penske or similar) and find out the car is just 800lbs heavier and not going to do it regardless of big money and good driving. I did read a pretty good tech article on shocks at farnorthracing.com and am somewhat convinced that the OTS konis are a pretty good investment and not going to break the bank, but would like to hear what others who are serious about auto x think. Do I spend big money, or just buy the konis, wear my lucky underwear, and go to nationals for the fun and experience. Also I've just bought a stillen adjustable front bar, and got an autocross allignment, and am running stock size 19" hankooks. Thanks. |

I think Konis are fine. Your bar choice, alignment, and wheel/ tire combo will be just as important. Talk to guy here that has trophies at Nats in CS

So.... OTS Koni sports or... stock nismo? I've never driven the koni's, but the stock nismo shocks have a pretty good damping. Near as I can tell the wheel rates are pretty much the same between a Nismo and a SP car.
