Thanks Mike, so Nitto tires are good quality tires for the track?
I do have hankooks 255 front 305's on the rear. Should i just go back to oem sports wheels with Re050?

if you are just starting out, street tires are fine.

I know people on RS3 running XP12 no problem. Thats why I said they will work no problem.

Then there will be a post "Help, ice mode"

XP12s and street tires will cause premature lockup of the tires. Its way overkill.

Whatever I'm not gonna argue I'm just stating what I know.

Get the correct car to try it first

Nitto is a "streetable" track tire. They are in the same "type" of group as say a toyo r888. Streetable means it's legal to drive them to the track, where as a slick like Hoosier is not legal on the street-you have to have a trailer or a GF that drives your SUV :rofl2: behind you. The point is that you put these tires on your car the night before, drive them to the track the next day, then take them off when you get home.

The next category is "Extreme/Max performance summer". This is probably the most popular. These tires are good for daily drivers that are also goign to perform well at the track. Examples would be RE11's, RS3's, PSS's, etc. You could argue there is a difference between Extreme/max. But would need to know more than I do to be able to tell you what the difference is.

The next category is "all season Ultra performance" examples: Goodyear F-1, bridgestone Pole positions, etc. These are good if you live in an area that is commonly below 50 degrees F and you can't use a summer only tire. These tires are definitely still trackable especially at beginner levels such as me.
