I beat a 5.0 an a c5 vette at the 1/4 mile in my 265rwh 350z last fall running mid 13's(13.4-13.6)...most people around here cannot drive their cars, it is great beating cars with vastly more HP, the kicker, BOTH were AT's....My 370z will do some slaying at our 1/4 mile this year, esp if I can get colose to 13 flat.

5.0 can be tough to launch. I've seen them run mid 13s with poor driving. In a heads up race anything is possible.

I've seen your car myself at the track lol. Wheel hop like a muphucka through 4th... but you still managed what, mid 12's at least?

A reminder that this is the "tech section" and as such KEEP IT ON TOPIC!
If you feel there's nothing of value to help? move ON. Thanks... Back on Topic! Op you need to do some major research to accomplish this feat. let along being expensive since you're already handicapped by 2 cylinders ![]() |

OOH bench racing.. Not sure what you'd consider a kill.. Equal Motor Trend 0-60 times gets you a tie. If you consider the fact that you have to be on track to go faster than that (unless you like killing innocent people) combined with the knowledge that Mustangs just blow up or roll over on said track, the answer is: a real racetrack. Congrats!

I just don't get why so many people try to compare the two. No matter what you do the 5.0 will always be a step ahead. It's faster stock and it's faster modded. Even when turns are involved. No point in the "well, if you've got this and he's got this" game because it doesn't effing matter.
Don't worry about being faster than the next guy and instead drive what makes you happy. You'll be amazed at how much nicer everything is when you don't give a sh*t about how you stack up.
