I have a Profi-II HANS harness and I think my next will be a Safecraft. They're SFI certified not FIA so the certification period is shorter but you get a free rewebbing to make up for it. They seem to adjust more smoothly and they hold settings as well as the schroth. Oh... and they're cheaper.

I prefer latch and link systems to Cam locks simply because they are faster to get in and out of when you zip tie. Cam locks always leave me confused at first as to what goes where. Thats just my $.02 its all personal preference.

Yea, but they don't zip tie the left shoulder+left lap and right shoulder and right lap belt I bet. That way all you got to do is throw the on left side pull up crotch and throw over right side and latch. Also, use surgical tubing to pull the left side left, right side right and the lap belt down and forward. This way the belts always snap to an open position when you unlink yourself. There is no searching for belts or any of that crap and on camlock systems this is impossible. It really is the fastest way I know to do belts in a race car and on a street car that uses DOT approved harnesses its nice to be able to get in and go quickly. If they are not zip tied/surgical tubed then latch and link are a total nightmare.

Here's a question.
Pull up or Pull down. Pull Down = Normal Pull Up = you have crew to strap you in? Edit: NM, I figured it out lol Last edited by Sh0velMan; 01-31-2013 at 09:32 PM. |

What would you guys suggest for AutoX and the occasional track day, 4 point or 6 point harness?
I have: - a harness bar waiting to be installed (thanks Mike!) - stock seats I plan to leave stock belts in place (for street use) and connect the harness to the stock belt anchor points using something like this: Harness Mount - Door Side-Rennline, Inc. This will probably work for a 4 point harness, but for a 6 point I need to find out where/how to mount the crotch straps/anti-sub belt. Anyone out there who has been down this path?

I just replaced the stock bolt with something like this. They replace the stock bolt, so I have one of those into the left, then drilled the transmission tunnel and added one on the right, 2 more under the seat for the 6 point harness, and 2 more on the harness bar:
