help with SCCA track classification please
hey all, wanting to do my first autox event on february 10th. i need to find out what class I'm in as hete they dont allow on the spot tape ups. need to have a professionally printed sign on each side of the car to participate. on it, it requires car # and class so i need to know which class i would fall in. i know that we are stock C but i have springs, headers, test pipes, cbe, and intake. I want to order sway bars but dont wanna do front and rear and be thrown out to the wolves. Running 275 tires in the rear with 18x10.5" D.O.T. tires. not R compound. I've searched on the forum and read the SCCA rule book thoroughly but still am a bit confused. any help is great. Thanks in advance!

ASP
It's the test pipes and wider rear wheels that kill you. Both sway bars are legal in ASP so at this point go for it. Also depending on the competition in your area, you're going to be outgunned by the guys running R-Comp tires regardless what you do.

ASP in Hawaii...hey man don't get discouraged. I learned a lot from the Lee and Parker family out there at Aloha Stadium.
Just remember have fun and listen during the course walks/driving instructor. |

SCCA Fasttrack #9283 370Z Classing Proposal Per the STAC, this is addressed by two separate Tech Bulletins: 1) Add to STR: ‘09-’12 Nissan 370Z (except NISMO) 2) Clarifiy 14.4 by adding: “Standard equipment wheels exceeding these maximums are not permitted.”

I took a look at sccahawaii.org and there is only one other driver in ASP. An 07 SLK55.
Now if you were to return to stock and run C-Stock...that would be a blast against all those BRZ/Miatas/RX8s. |

Thank you all for the input so far! I'm not sure how organized they are out here with it and how strict they will be on classes since we are well....stuck on an island lol. So ASP looks like where I'm at at the moment. Any other mods I should jump on to even be somewhat competitive in the future when I start becoming more serious?

simple enough lol. Obviously I don't wanna tear apart some R comps before I even get use to being behind the wheel that aggressively. I don't have that much money to burn lol.

As stated you are in ASP with those mods. And you have already been thrown to wolves.
What tires r u running and what alignment settings u running for camber and toe?

Stay in ASP it won't be that bad C Stock in Hawaii looks very competitive. I was running within .5 seconds of Tom Richards RX-8 with Hoosier A6 with my 370Z on stock tires. He's now running 3-4 in class against those BRZs.
If any mods I would go with a set of sways. Don't change too much at once. I also recommend sticking with street tires so you can develop good habits and a feel for what's going on (weight transition/power on off/when to brake/how much brake). Just have fun and get seat time in. HOOAH! **Oh yeah...if you get a chance to do fun runs look for Jon Matsushige in the black Camaro SS. Let him drive your Z. He will drive it like he stole it which will give you a new perspective of what the car is capable of. Just watch him and the course and take mental notes. Not sure to be honest. Someone just pointed this out to me yesterday on here (STR Post). After I saw the "Non-Nismo" part I quit reading.
IMO the Nismo and non-Nismo in ST trim are equal based on the legal mods that are allowed. So once again I'm facing Nismo discrimination.

Well I went with the LTH's which immediately bumped me to ASP so at that point I figured wth let's just go all the way. Still have a lot of work (and parts) to go but I'm well on my way.
