I'd listen to him if I were you. He may know a thing or two about our cars and autox

I did. for year and half. I honestly had a lot of fun but felt 285 might be bit too much for front. 275 I'm feeling a lot better. I actually have a set of 285-35/19" re-11 sitting in garage. Maybe have 7000-8000 miles left on them. I'm going back and forth on selling them or keeping them.

how do you disable yaw sensor in our car? shouldn't with VDC off, you're pretty much turning everything off (except abs)?
2. most frustrating feeling ever. We have all done it haha
What does everyone mean by 285 is too much upfront? I keep seeing people stating this. I've always been taught to run the widest front tire with whatever holds the rear to help turn in and if it's enough front tire you use less brake and the turn scrubs scrubs little speed

To disable the yaw sensor, you can cut the green wire going to it (it's the Bosch sensor in the center console). Or you can wire up a switch - I used a factory seat heater switch to enable/disable mine.

Re: 285s in front - tires work best on proper width wheels, and ideal is usually when wheel width is about the same as tire width (1 inch of wheel width) = 25mm of tire width. That means a 285 tire works best on a ~11.5" wheel, much wider than the stock 9's. That doesn't mean 225's (~9" wide) tires are best on the stock front wheels, only that you're getting to a point of diminishing returns. The tire's construction also matters a lot too - something like a Hoosier A6/7 is designed to work well when "pinched" on a narrow wheel, but normal street tires aren't.

fwiw I run 315/30-18 Hoosier A7's on a 18x10 wheel in the front. Turn in is great. Unfortunately, this doesn't help you street class guys much.

They rub the fender at all? What offset wheel? I fit a 295 A6 on the front with the stock Rays but haven't tried a 315 front. I have a set of Enkei PF01 18x9.5 +35 and 18x10.5 +15 that I run nitto NT01's on right now.

No rub that I've seen. Wheels are 18x10 +30 front, 18x11 +18 rear with 315/30-18's all around. Currently at ~factory ride height with -3.0 camber up front although I know as little as -2.1 still doesn't rub.

Hmmm I may have to try out a 315/30r18 square setup once my nittos are done. I'm curious to see if it'll fit. I'm running -2.5 front camber, dropped maybe an inch on KW V3's. It'll be a bit of a pinch on 9.5" rims but it may work. God knows the car needs all the help it can get up front. lol

Bump.

Pretty cool weekend. We had two 370 in the top 3 in BS. There was also a pretty sweet looking, Boosted nismo running in ssm.

AK370, it was nice meeting you. You drove well man. Congrats on the 1st place.

Brandan, that Z looks very familiar haha thanks for the pics!

PharmDZ, the car felt good just the tires have not much left in them anymore. There were 115 entries with 35 pro drivers. Ended up 34th overall raw time 2nd in my class. Next event is on the 12th which is Saturday, you should come up if you can.
