hahaha I JUST went through the same thing in my Z! I myself am trying wider wheels and tires first before anything else. I'm considering an 18x10.5 wheel and 275-285 wide tire setup all around, or a "square" setup as i've seen it called.

Still trying to decide on whether ditching the factory Nismo wing for a proper spoiler is the way to go or not.

Since I was gone for most of the year I only had the chance to run two events in the New Z. PSS's are not the best but it's all I have right now. It was nice running a stock car again since I was able to pick up on some bad techniques that I had to quickly fix. The PSS's did pretty well in the last event since it as cold but I'm switching to Rivals next year. Who here is running ASP? I'm planning on running that next year. Took a 2nd and 1st in my last two events in BS but it looks like the Nismo is going to AS next season.

What did you do to make the car competitive? For next season 18" wheels and tires is the main goal and I want to run a 275 up front min. The Z is stock right now minus a oil cooler and exhaust. I was glad that I was beating up on camaros and a boss after only two events but I did notice a decent difference in how the Nismo handled over my old one.

I run 315/30-18 Hoosiers on all 4 corners. Car is full breather mods, Uprev tuned, upgraded drivetrain (LSD, flywheel, etc), 2 pc rotors + carbotech pads, upgraded sway bars, front upper control arms, AST single adjust dampers with the factory Nismo springs. The shocks and springs will be getting replaced this off season along with the addition of adjustable rear spring perches and camber arms.

Which LSD did you go with Gomer? That may be next on the list for me. I'm running ASP as well. Thankfully I've barely been able to hang onto my cars daily drivability. Just did KW coils and a new clutch/flywheel this season so far. I know it's not the best coilover for racing but the adjustability is nice and it's been a good compromise for street driving as well.

I have a quaife in mine. In the grand scheme of things I probably should have gone with a clutch type LSD but for now I'm not too worried about it. Still need to do a lot more work on the nut behind the wheel before I worry about the finer details.

Haha same here. I keep saying that I need work as a driver. I'm lucky I haven't modded the car beyond my own control or abilities. I was worried about that for a while but I seem to be controlling it well enough. Just have to refine my techniques now.

Luckily I have some top level talent in my region (unfortunately none are ASP) so at least on index I have a pretty good gauge of where I stand. Additionally I had the chance to go head to head with Aaron Miller and the current ASP national champ (can't remember his name) out at Peru this summer. Unfortunately it wasn't until after that weekend that something just clicked and I was able to drop a few additional seconds on an average 50 sec course.

Those of you running a 295 up front, what size wheel and offset are you using? I am leaning towards a square setup for next season but keeping the stock Nismo suspension for now

Front: 18x10 +30
Rear: 18x11 +18 315/30-18 Hoosiers on all 4 corners. In all reality the 315 wants a wheel wider than 10" to be happy, but it does work on a 10" wide wheel. Also don't waste your time with 295's just go to the 315's and call it a day. When I made the switch it was remarkable how much happier the car was.
