Guessing from comments I've seen on another forum that they view it as:

370z>350z and 350z = current class winner therfore 370z = class killer

IIRC the 350z was originally in STR and the reason it got moved was that a top driver curb stomped the rest of STR in one. So apparently if we want the 370z in STU someone needs to do a full tilt STR build and put a top driver in the car and then curb stomp the field.

Here's what we are up against:

Ugh this is frustrating... kind of stuck in a rut here. Still not willing to trailer/hoosiers for ASP but the car would get wrecked in STR, especially around North New Jersey/Philly. Some serious S2000 STR builds here.

Now to figure out what to do with this damn car...

Maybe find a codriver that could haul the Hoosiers to events for you and just change from street to race tires on site. Not ideal but it gets the job done.

It's pretty awesome how they won't move the 370 to stu and keep it in str but stu and str have essentially the same exact pax. I can't recall any class that has limited tire size Lower then stock like they did the 370 in str.
and why the hell is FS pax half a second faster then BS with cars like the new mustang and camaro, m3...

Until 370's start turning up in large numbers at NATIONAL events don't expect much to change. From everything I've seen in the short time I've been autoxing, the majority rules regardless of whether their decisions make sense. Look at the cars with favorable classing (pony cars, miatas, corvettes, the twins, and old shitbox hondas) and how many of them show up to national events vs the other cars with poor classing.

You can make a "what came first, chicken or the egg" type argument but it still won't change the fact that the 370 has poor classing and that isn't going to change in the near future.

I may be at nats this year. If not the year following. I think I'll be happy in bs since my local competition is pretty fun to race with, I just wish we had more factory camber.

Default The Official 370Z Autocross Thread

First Autocross since I installed my powertrix coilovers, they felt great. Any tips for adjusting the dampening? They are 15 way adjustable, I had them at 10F and 8R from soft and it felt pretty good, I adjusted them up to 12F and 10R and didn't really feel much of a difference, but time was slower by 0.20s both runs. Now I'm still learning, so the 0.20s could very easily have been the driver, but any tips appreciated
