Yea I saw that in CJM instructions last week. I still like the way ours is ran. Not that it makes any difference.

the changes are just related to how the connections are made at the stock pump assembly. i am keeping my eyes peeled for a better way yet. i would like something with an easy disconnect for future service, but it has to be compact enough to be installed in the same manor.

My first trackday with this. I ran all the way down to 1 dot showing, with no issues.

Heading to track tomorrow for Monday event. Boy howdy do I envy you. I will be running a full tank and burning 5 gallons in 30 minutes. Always waiting in line for gas at the track. You have the answer.

Word of caution. Do not use any lube to help you push the brass fittings on. The hose doesn't like some lubes. And watch your placement of your hose clamps. On the race fuel pump. The middle hose, which supplies the fuel back over the the stock pump. Is high pressure more or less. If you position the hose not far enough on, and the hose clamp is position a little low. You will have a trip on the back of a flatbed. DON'T ask me how I know. TWICE.

Other then that. I love it!

It took about a year and a half before I had trouble. Did you use anything to help you slide the hose over the fittings?

I bring two 5gal jerry cans of gas with me to top off (waiting for punks fix to arrive). Track gas is super expensive. I fuel starve at exactly half a tank.

Are you going to sears point (or Infineon or whatever there calling it these days?)

As suggested in the guide, I put a little bit of engine oil on some piece of paper and used that paper to lubricate it a little....
Well, we'll see then...
Do you drive your Z much?

You should not have a problem with motor oil. I used the same stuff as I use at work to put fittings together. Never had a problem with rubber hose before. But the hose phunk uses is different for inside the tank. I assume it would be the same. The hose doesn't like silicone lube.

As for driving the Z. I just did a trip to ZDayZ. That was 1500 mile around trip. The Z ran great the whole time. Did the Tail of the Dragon and a lot more.

Note: ENDORSEMENT FOR PHUNK'S RR PUMP AHEAD

This was the first modification I did on my Z planning for the One Lap of America, therefore it has been on the car for a year. I just did 3900 miles in 8 days, tracked at 6 tracks, 2 drag strips and 2 skid pad events. We NEVER showed up to the track over 1/2 a tank and never had an issue. As I said in one of my previous posts, even the GTR guys were a bit jealous of me as they seem to have a starvation issue under 1/2 to 3/4 a tank (same fuel tank??). HUGE HUGE thank you to Charles for this!!
