I hope some 350z guys read this
I just came back from Lebenone Valley drags. I have not been to a drag strip in almost a year & a half. Last year I woke up & found my car under 10" feet of water. Today was the first time back at the track WITH race tires. Used to race with stock intake & muffler. My stock nissan muffler, because of water & sand in it was replaced with a stock muffler but from a DE 350z. That can't be good Anyway, first run I was rusty, 1.849 60' & 13.064 at 105.64. Second run I did 1.829 60' & 12.885 at 107.86 with both runs the car made clicking noises at 3/4 mark on. After asking for help, they told me sounds came from front tires. Didn't want to crash so had to find the cause. Problem found. It's been some time so I used a single washer instead of the two that I used in the past. Front tires were not tight & wabbled at higher speeds. Lucky no accident but I had enough and settled with only two runs.
The reason I want the 350z guys to read this is because my second run with all my problems & not getting a chance to get the car race ready, I still ran quicker than any other Z on the top 25 bolt on 07/08 hr list. Except of course for the guy that did many 12.5's at 109/110 mph. ME I don't get it. I see HR builds, higher H.P. cars & I limp into first place again on a slow track. Not being a wise guy but isn't that imbaressing ?????? |
