Brake/Throttle Interlock disable - Left Foot Brake enable
I understand the difference between "Brake/Throttle Interlock" (commonly credited to Toyota) and "ABS/ABLS/TC/VDC" (think Bosch relay)..... Well kinda.
My question refers to the "Brake/Throttle Interlock" that can be over-ridden by pulling the brake lamp fuse. * For those of us who don't want to loose their tail lights ALL of the time, does anyone know which wire coming off of the brake pedal switch can *be toggled on/off in lieu of accessing the fuse panel ever time we switch applications. Thanks!

the brake switch is like your door switch. when pedal is at rest, the circuit is open and thus lights are off.
when you press the pedal, the switch springs into the closed position, completing the circuit and turning the brake lamps on. so in theory, it shouldn't matter which wire you put the track mode/burnout switch on. i cant remember how many wires are on this switch though. also, before you tinker with the wrong switch, determine which is the brake light switch by pressing the pedal all the way down and then using your finger to push each switch while observing the tail lamps. helps to have the engine on so that you dont use up all the vacuum in the booster and also helps to have a friend watch the lights or do it inside a garage so you can see easily |
