already have one set of stock rims that came with the car ... would do street tires on that set ... would buy a used set of 18" stock rims to put R6's or some other more aggressive tire on that set.

going to get a trailer to put the car on to get to and fro.

The base wheels' widths are 8" front and 9" rear so can you fit anything wider than 245/275 on there? I'm also gonna be looking for a new set of tires next spring, but I will only be doing HPDE's and DD my car on those tires as well. I was thinking about getting RE-11's or maybe the Conti DW to save some money. What do you guys recommend? I'm still a beginner BTW so it's not like I really need the stickiest tire, but rather something that has a good balance of grip and that I can DD without many issues.

That's about the max that makes sense for the base wheels. Going wider is just going to add weight and not give any more contact patch.

The best trackable street tires are the RE-11 and the RS-3. I wouldn't track on the Conti's.

My unsolicited advice: Don't run slicks until you're maxing out your street tires all the time. I listened but I didn't really understand why before I ran slicks for the first time... They really can mask your mistakes.

I would get AD08s, RE11s, or RS3s for the track until you're driving the piss out of those. :)
