What your describing is fuel starve, that gauge is terrible at reading fuel level. I use over a quarter tank for a 30min session. And you can run into fuel issues starting at below a 3/4 tank. For fuel usage the MPG guage is more accurate then the level sender, alittle math will get you how much fuel you actually used.
NJMP Lightening 1.9 Miles Track 30 Min Session 1.3 Min Lap Avg 7 MPG 23 Laps 43.7 Miles 6.23 Gallons ~6 Gallons Per Session Just fill up after each session.

had fuel starve on laguna seca after a sweeping long right turn, keep fuel at full unless you want to spend some money to fix it. like people said earlier, the gauge dots are terrible and not accurate at all, 3/4th tank is probably less than half

Also it should be noted that getting the CJM RRP is simply not enough. You should also upgrade and replace the passenger side top hat with the CJM replacement kit while you're at it. Your OEM one will eventually break, is generally not covered under the standard warranty and will not be helped by simply installing the CJM RRP.

Do one, might as well do the other. Since you have to work on it too when doing the RRP.
