Watkins Glenn Conti Challenge ...

Yuppers.....its race week again
This time we will be at Watkins Glenn which should favor us a little more than the drag strip of Road America. ;)
We were able to bring the RC back in one piece which means we are able to complete an "update" on her. This should give us a good bit more power under the curve which will def come in handy.
Another addition will be Michael Skeen onboard for the race.
Mr. Skeen is just coming off a double victory in the World challenge GT weekend at Mosport.
Bryan Heitkotter will then be back for the Indy race next month.
LETS DO THIS!!!!

We have today in the shop ( Z is under the knife and DP is getting finalized and loaded) and then everyone leaves tomorrow.
My list has grown in interest and but we won't be able to get to ther production till after next week.
Once we return from Watkins Glenn we have a 2 day test at Indy on the GP config... Talk about fast.... we may actually use 6th gear! ( we def will)
After that test we have down time and can get a handle on control arms.

Did you say that SPL is testing some on some race cars now? Sounds like somebody will have some made in the next couple months.

Dwnshift 06-25-2012 12:03 PM

Not sure what SPL is doing.
Perhaps one of the WC GTS cars?
I know a Mid Ohio one of the Z WC teams came over our and wants 2 sets.
Right now we are just flat out in race mode.
I think our arms have proven to be true....
Again I apologize but it's just how it goes right now.

The SFR WC cars are running SPL control arms for sure. I think DWW is running SPC control arms.

SPL (guy named Sean) told me on the phone last week that they had a couple sets on two Sponsored Nismo cars racing in Canada (I believe) this past weekend. That they will be waiting on there feedback to make the decision to mass produce. Hopefully in the next month.

For me I'm going to buy from who ever comes to the table first with a great race inspired front arms. I want to support those people who help us most.

Thats the World challenge GTS cars.

Correct. SPL sponsors the SFR Enterprises World Challenge 370Z's (#51 & #52). They are testing and developing suspensions components for the 370Z in conjunction with SPL. I have seen first hand some of the SPL track suspension components coming down the pipeline and they look awesome as with all SPL components.

Incorrect actually. DWW (Brian Kleeman) is actually running Eibach Front Upper Control Arms..I know I am splitting hairs with this one. LOL. Aside from the coilovers, the rest of the suspension is fairly stock.

I am actually working in close conjunction with both teams. I was with SFR at Mosport this past weekend (literally JUST walked into the door from the airport). I will be at Mid-Ohio as well Infineon later this fall with the teams. If anyone has any questions for either team or about the teams, feel free to ask (but I would prefer to move it to a dedicated thread to prevent thread jacking).
