Exhaust with valve opening: which setting for track

Hi,

I bought a second hand 370Z (less that 10K kms) in December and I'm hitting the track in beginning of July.
Just a (stupid) question: the previous owner fitted a NAP exhaust line with the remotely openable valves.

Is it any better to race with this open or closed or no difference at all, it's just the sound?
My guess: last option :)

Thanks!

If your car/you is really fast, run open if you like. If you aren't fast, make your car STFU before you embarrass yourself. Just an opinion.

Won't make any appreciable speed difference. Just a head turner.

Definitely open, it bypasses the restrictive muffler and adds power. New Cadillac CTS-V's come with it JUST in case you want to track your car.

OK thank you all for your answers; I also thought I would drive with it closed to avoid unnecessary douchebag noise especially since I'm a beginner :)
Now @threeseventy makes me think of the opposite!

The noise level of your car is pretty much irrelevant on the track. Everyone expects there to be obnoxiously loud cars there ;)

except when you have a decked out 100db Miata that gets passed by a Prius at the track

z06 opens the exhaust valves I believe after 4-5K rpm also, but keeps them shut when going slow/lower RPM. My buddy added the switch on his exhaust, he can open anytime he wants

Jealous of you.. get comfortable on the track, then open 'er up! BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
