SCCA Nat'l Tour - Blythville AR
Is anyone going to the Nat'l tour event in AR this weekend. At the moment it is me and 4 Evo's signed up for ASP.....Let me know who's going!!!
|
Nope. I only have the Evo shootut in Dover, Toledo Pro, and Nationals left on my schedule.
|
I'll be there.

Any nat'l level experience against the Evo's? Locally, they're not an issue, but this is my first Nat'l in 10 yrs... |

Ashout out to AutoX Z....fast and a nice guy!!!!! |
That's probably the best, no buetzer, pax at a national event in CS in a while. Nice job, Autox Z.
|
Thanks for the kind words. The car was handling really well both days (even on "used" tires). I knew I drove well but thought I would finish lower in the PAX, behind a lot more of the smaller, momentum cars.
Nice meeting you at the event Martin. Its always nice to meet another guy brave enough to buck the establishment cars and soldier on in the Z. I think there are only 4 of us out there competing nationally now. I will try and get some videos up later this week. |
It's that time of year again here in AR. Who's going to SCCA summer Nat'l tour.
As some of may have seen, I cleaned-out some old parts and ordered some DA 8300 Penske shocks. For this setup...Several concessions were made to keep it all ASP legal, but hopefully the "program" will do better this year. So....this is a roll call - who will be there and in what class? :driving: |
I'll see you all at the Nat stuff next year with my Z when R-comps are finally kicked out. I'm co-driving my buddy's S2000 this year since he's willing to pony up for BFG R1's for the time being.

I talked with some friends friends from the Arkansas region and there will be at least 3 other drivers in ASP....my co-driver and two Porsche guys. If I'm not mistaken, that means, some contingencies will be will be available. Another car, I think, will open the door to most all possible contengencies. Come on guys - there's got to be some more 370Z cars willing and able to sign-up. On a positive note....I did get my 8300 DA Remote Resevoirs installed for the event.....although this will be my first event on this setup. It will be a tuning event with year-end Nat's on the calendar. |
Going to the Blytheville event(s)
In my brother's Mini.:eekdance: |

Update: Got car aligned and corner weighted today with new setup. I'm curious how the car will do with 1200lb rear and 1100lb front springs. Tons of neg camber front and rear, 50.0 cross weight, and 3365lbs with me and 4 gallons. See photo.... |
71 RT2/RTF (H stock)
I wish my Z was prepped but the Mini is a lot cheaper. My brother ordered everything but shocks to bring it up to full prep, but I'm not sure he can get all the parts on the car in time. We will see. (And I'll drive whatever he has ready) |
One more Z and ASP is qualified for Hoosier contingency.
Anybody...anybody? |
My first Pro Solo and first National Tour.
That was both fun and tiring. Ended up driving a Mazda 2 in STF. |
Friends don't friends drive in STF ;).

One of the guys I run with locally had a well-prepped STF car and wanted another driver in the class. My brother was cool with it so Mazda 2 it was. What I found interesting is how accurate the pax seemed to compare us as drivers between RTF and STF. At Dixie, we basically ran identical times while driving the same car. (I was only 0.008 seconds faster) At Blytheville, in two different cars and classes, we were again very close, but this time in the pax. I know it's not exact, but it nailed the two of us as we went from one car to two different classes. |
