What kind of LSD? Did you have cooler on rear diff? They get real hot.

they said the grinding in reverse noise was a stuck/hanging up brake pad and the whine is worn gear in the differential. Not sure how it got worn so fast though.
Now the question is, do I change gear ratios? Not sure what to do yet.

So was this worn after the LSD install? Seems it would have to be being this would of obviously been seen when installing. Did the LSD have to be shimmed? Was the backlash checked?

I don't know at this point. All I had was a phone message. Think I will stick with stock gearing, don't want to lose the SRM

i got a quaife installed on my open diff 6 speed.
i noticed it was making the whining sound. so i told the shop that installed it and he said it was normal. so i've driven the car a few hundred miles. also installed new bearings. i will talk with him and make him fix this, but could the quaife be damaged? will i need new bearings and gears? |
