nice 1/4 tank. thats like a 130lb weight reduction LOL

Made some CAD revisions to the remaining parts today and should have them started in the CNC tomorrow afternoon! This is still coming along... not 100% as quickly as I hoped once it hit production, but we are making it very nice. Hoping to email out final photos before anodizing next week. I cannot wait, I just hit nasty starvation again yesterday on the street... I cant even begin to imagine the frustrations you guys on the track must encounter... no wonder everyone was getting salty that this was taking so long for us to get into production!!

Mike 06-08-2012 07:42 PM

anxiously waiting to send you some $$$$

Anything yet?

phunk 06-12-2012 12:05 PM

CNC is running... this thing is turning out AWESOME. I think we will have pricing details for the end of this week, we are far enough along now to be able to calculate machine time for the components and material costs.

clintfocus 06-12-2012 05:58 PM

^awesome

Only one component left to machine now. Then the batch is off to get anodized.

Mike 06-20-2012 05:22 PM

any chance I can have one by the end of the month?

That would be really excellent if possible. Then i could get it installed for my Grattan trip end of July. ;)

cdoxp800 06-20-2012 07:08 PM

Well I am off to the Track again. I get to have fun with my fuel starving. There is a Real long right hand turn this weekend in the 2.75 mile NOLA track. Boy it's going to SUCK..

While remotely possible, it is pretty unlikely. The last part we have to machine is probably the most complex part in the unit. It will require machining from 3 different mounting positions, 2 of them requiring custom machined fixtures.

After the machining is all done, we get the parts anodized. The anodizer usually has the parts for 3-5 days. Anodizing is not required.. but we do it as a way of stamping the parts as "complete" and ready for use... and because it is just more professional looking to us. I would personally recommend waiting out the anodizing. Its also nice because it removes conductivity from anodized surfaces, which can be nice for parts with wiring inside the gas tank.

We will see how the last part comes together and how quickly and go from there. Everything else for this has been taking longer than expected and I trust that the theme may continue.

scruffydog 06-22-2012 03:19 PM

Definitely interested in getting the product. Too bad I won't be able to have it before my track day on July 8th.

SPOHN 06-22-2012 03:26 PM

I might be back in on this. Won't know for two weeks.

phunk 06-22-2012 03:35 PM

Just did a little bench testing with it mostly assembled. Everything is working great. This is a really kick *** device.

There are 3 left in the first production run that are unspoken for. However I should probably expect at least one person to bail at last second as that is pretty common with this type of stuff.

phunk 06-22-2012 08:46 PM

Just after my last post I started the long write up on all the details, but halfway through I got pulled into a meeting that took until long after hours. I'll try and see if I can finish it up tomorrow.

I can wait.. Its just that the tank is fairly empty right now, but will be full after the track day and I don't have any street tires to drive it and empty the tank. this set of hoosiers should be done after this track day though, so I'll just drive them around to kill the tank.

travisjb 06-23-2012 08:24 AM

I'm convinced this whole thing is a sick joke! a 2-year tease lol

roplusbee 06-23-2012 01:59 PM

So production/testing for the forced induction model starts when this batch is complete?

Testing will begin yes. I will be using my own car for that. It's more of a configuration/setup change. Nothing different has to be manufactured for it, it just changes to how we configure it before installing it to the gas tank.

Trust me... If it was all in my control, this would have entered production a long, long time ago. You have no idea how hard I have to push for so long to get new things to finally exist. Some day, I hope to speed up that process.

Lol! I have a fix that Z CAr garage made. Essentially is a surge can with an additional pickup and pump on the other side that pumps fuel over. Only use it on track during sessions.

Still would rather have a fuel cell I think.

CNC has been running the last part since yesterday. Once this program is done we run another program on the last part and we can start sorting out installation/assembly. Final stretch now. There is no way I won't have these at the anodizer next week. Should hopefully have pricing details today.

Rusty 06-27-2012 11:13 AM

Looking forward to it.

SPOHN 06-27-2012 05:28 PM

I should know something for you next week. Looking good.

scruffydog 06-27-2012 08:39 PM

Kepp up the good work!

SPOHN 06-28-2012 09:08 AM

Phunk. Can you PM me a contact number. Like to talk.

Megan370z 06-28-2012 09:32 AM

Phunk , you said there was 3 unit unspoken in the first production left.

If there is still one available , im very interested to get one asap !!! ;)

phunk 06-28-2012 11:22 AM

^^ someone signed up yesterday. So unless someone backs out at payment time, there are 2 left in this batch... and there is plenty of room for that since we still havent even given the price.

Speaking of price, I have all the materials and everything in the spreadsheet, today we hope to get around to entering machine time in there so all that gets calculated and then I should have some useful numbers.

SPOHN 06-28-2012 11:42 AM

I'll take one for sure. Pm sent. I'll call you later.

takjak2 06-28-2012 11:42 AM

Pending price
