My comments about the sync were comparing to an Android-based solution, which is equally inexpensive, and what I use for my (very amateur) stuff too This is the last one I took via my cheapo Android setup (very shaky mount, I plan to steal the idea above about the pipe insulation and tape for next time): MSR Houston CCW - TDE 20120421 - 370Z - YouTube.

My setup is very similar to the OP's, except it's Android instead of iPhone, and aLapRecorder instead of Harry's (and the PLX Kiwi is over Bluetooth instead of Wifi (which isn't an option for iPhone)).

I was not really commenting on anyone in particular.

I think it is great that threads like this have multiple inputs from varied experience and knowledge levels. I should have worded my reply better.

I use Race Render to import the file from my IPhone and do the overlay stuff...works pretty good. They are the guys that make Track Addict HD.

I agree, this is basic system but appropriate for what I do- very cost effective- the data feedback really surprised me. When on the track feels like your into the gas till the very end (understand the sync issue noted above) but when you can see RPM, throttle, track position etc you realize you got off sooner than you thought. Same with braking starting point- if I can do 60-0 in ~120' I should be able to do 120-60 mph in same 120' so I can feel a little more confident moving deeper into the foot markers lap over lap. On this visit to WG definately felt was slowing too early & had plenty more brake could have gotten into prior to turns but this is what track time is all about- learnig the car and getting a better understanding of its performance and limits (mine too). The other thing that surprised me was consistency of lap time- when not in traffic had 5 laps each session that within ~ second range. The data feedback from this entry level system is very good for a weekend track guy like me and think it will help me improve. Just havin a fun time

I'd have to invest some more energy in researching how to even get the ODBII stuff to work on mine ... I know it can be done using Track Addict, just have to figure it out ... I am clueless when it comes to that stuff.

But I think it would be worth the effort ... like Dwnshft alluded to, more data = better.

Having data is one thing...being able to interpert that data can be another thing. I start with plotting wheel speed and throttle position... if you know how to look at those two items together..you can really can start progressing.

I am also starting to use the OBD-II port. I just got a cable for christmas from my sis for the iPhone 4/4s. I used an adapter and plugged in my iPhone5 and it seems to work like a charm. My only gripe is that it only seems to work with the GoPoint software and Mikes track software.

So my question is does anyone have a composite list of the base 370 specs that mikes asks for?

here is the list that the software wants. I know some are self explanatory:

Found this as well. sorry for the interruption. ;-)

This is what I ended up with. Thank you. I still need to tweak and figure out what increase I have for my bolt one as well as figure out if I should buy up rev or unsupported Cobb tuning. My brother swears by cobb for his 350.

Cobb only works on '09 models. I had Cobb but sold it and bought UpRev, which is much better.

Yep.. I spec'd it off of the base model. It matches perfect. Fixed my imperial measurements. I am guessing with my bolt ons that I should be pushing at least what the nismo is pushing because my bolt ons are better than the nismo bolt ons. Only thing I am missing is the nismo tune. I wonder if someone has a standard nismo flash that I could overwrite to my ECU and that would be the end of that. I dont plan on doing anything drastic to the engine setup. I think the most I am going to do now is fix the suspension/oil cooler/brake lines/fluid upgrades and maybe a different gear for the diff. Thats about it. Mine is a DD so I need it every day not just for track. If I could I would also upgrade the clutch/flywheel but I think that would definitely void my warranty.

So what exactly should I be looking for with an uprev package? Which one would I need or which one would work best for me? I plan on tracking it. I would love to do my own tunes but I'm not 100%sure how to do that just yet. I know my brother just takes data and emails it to Cobb and they send him a custom tune based on the data.

Can I also get the Dyno included in the price or does that cost more also?
