First time at LVMS Drag Strip
So last night was my first time drag racing. I came out here with a few other guys. It was my 370, a 40th, and a 2012 GTR. Weather was 66.9F outside, 44% humidity, and 29.76 bar. Elevation is about 2100ft. Here is the calculations for density altitude and relative density:
Density Altitude: 3436 feet Relative Density: 90.33 % We were hoping to be in the low 13's or high 12's with my listed mods and a 108-110 trap.. The 40th was running at 1/2 tank 91 octane and 230lb driver with Berk HFC's, Berk CBE, AEM CAI, Stillen pulley, oil cooler, and I think Hankook Ventus V12 tires on stock rims. His race weight was 3600lbs. I was running less than 1/4 tank, weighed 150-160 lbs, 91 octane, stock rims and tires, with everything listed in my sig. The 40th Z ran 14.1 @ 100.16 mph and a 2.178 60' I ran a 13.963 @100.32 with a 2.127 60' Obviously we were both way off the mark. Was I aiming too high? The weather correction factor would still only put is in the mid to low 13's. The traps and ET's don't add up to the dyno regardless of CF used. It seemed like a clean run with good shifts and the car wasn't hot. Oil temps were 200F, water temps look fine (dots are inaccurate but was all I had). There might be a 10th to gain in the 60' but it's still a ways off. Do we both suck to the same degree or is this about right? As a comparison, 5.0's and Camaro SS's were running mid to low 13's last night. GTR was running 11.2 all night long... a$$hole edit: Thanks for the move... was wondering where to post

Even the trap speed is low. This indicates that I wasn't making as much power as the dyno is showing. I'll work on my 60' if there is more in it.

2100 ft above sea level does affect performance, but considering 370z's tested by mags did 13.6's, 13.7's pure stock(apx. 40 whp. less) has to point to your drving skill. Texing in between shifts also affects your mph.

I only have one video and it is of one where I bogged it bad. I was trying to load up the drivetrain and started rolling, then the tree started lighting up when I was trying to fix myself. You can at least look at the shifting. I wasn't power shifting through the gears. Some guys are getting 1.8's in the 60', That's definitely one area I need work. Let me kow if you want me to upload the video and time slip.
