Autocross beginner needs new street/autocross tires
Hey all,
So I'm just getting started with autocross and it also happens that I need new tires. While I do plan on doing autocross once or twice a month, my main desire is for some good street tires. I'm currently still on my stock Bridgestone Potenza 275/35 R19 96W and 245/40 R19 94W, which I actually enjoyed reasonably well. I'm not looking to spend a ton, just want to get something that will be reasonable for both situations. Open to any suggestions and comments! There are 2 305/30/19 Bridgestone RE-11's for sale on ebay right now for $163. I am running this same rear tire right now.
Regardless of what any forum tire expert will tell you, they will fit! You better buy them before I do. If you can't find any fronts used. Buy a set of 265 or 275 19's new. You will have saved a ton of cash.

Also shameless plug for a pair of my 265 35 19, they have 2/32nd on them RE11... $60 for the pair?
Bald RE11s will outrun any Continential DW you have in the dry. Save your money and buy real autox tires if you want to win, else you are wasting your time and money Last edited by cossie1600; 04-19-2012 at 01:28 PM. |
