It's funny, I might actually be out at Summit Point in a Lambo/Ferrari before I go there in my own car. Bought an exotic driving experience thing for 2 laps around Summit Point. Should be a fun first track experience :p

I saw a few of the exotics lined up today, although they weren't racing them. Today they had some police tactical training and were driving crown vics while setting off flash/bang granades and firing semi-automatic weapons. It was interesting having an explosion go off as you were starting to accelerate out of turn 1.

Doing that isn't a bad way to test the waters either.

Sounds like fun :p

Yea because anyone who has been around the forum knows that Red_Zed just was curious umm yeaaaa, he never trys to start fights we me. Anyway I believe I read it in CarAndDriver since all you guys are so "curious" I will either look for the issue or search the internet.

DCNISMO 05-09-2012 10:34 AM

Who carries the Nismo ducts? I see the part numbers you posted, but who do you call?

:shakes head:

What in the world are you saying here? You aren't even deflecting well anymore... Red_Zed isn't/didn't start a fight with you. He posted this:

Their post-mortem (as always, to be taken with a grain of salt) seems to fall in line with the widespread opinion that it is an airflow issue.

They were able to melt the pads on another Z, which doesn't lend much credence to the "it was abused" theory.

Another fact most people dont know is the Nismo C&D had the brake failure was a press car that had thousands of tortured miles on it before C&D had it.

Now pay attention and re-read what both you and he wrote and actually sit and think about it a second before blowing a gasket and having a brain anurism. You made the assertion that your statement was a FACT. That means it can be verified as being truthful. His reply is simply asking that you provide the verification that the Z they wrecked was abused beyond that of every other car they were testing it against.

That's it...how in the world are you missing the point? :icon14:

Instead of all this run around deflection you are failing misserably at, why not actually just look it up like you said you were going to and try to provide a link to the article? It would be so much easier and probably require less effort in the end.

Here is where you said you would look it up:

That is the 19th of April mind you. It is now the 9th of May, which is going on 3 weeks worth of time...

And now you are saying you will look it up again...go ahead and color me skeptical.

Now then....thread on. :happydance:

Sorry for the interuption.
The ducts can be ordered from:
Nissan Motorsports Parts
1615-223-3335
The carbon ducts are made to fit the Nismo nose.
Same ducts found on the NISMO RC 370Z.
Just trying to help.

I think this was mentioned on page 1, but Stillen has a brake ducting system as well.

They claim a 25% reduction in temps.

Thanks, I did not want to intercede in this little spat going on here...I'm going to the Grand Am race this weekend in New Jersey, I'll see if I can talk to the guys running the Z's and take some pics.

Dwnshift 05-09-2012 03:14 PM

We aren't there.... well w the Z anyway. The team is there running a DP... but the RC will be back starting at Mid Ohio. Lookout of major updates to the Z's suspension and engine program....mainly new Bosch engine mng system.

two different things, kind of. You need the nissan motorsports ducts, along with the stillen cooling kit for the stillen bumper car to make a kit for the nismo. Or you can make your own, the Nismo ducts are just the ducts that fix into the front bumper

Dwnshift 05-09-2012 09:55 PM

We have fabricated our own backing plates and are looking into putting them into production. There is a lot of time / fabrication that goes into them....but we are looking at some options on it.

what size hose are you using, out of curiosity?

I might go to mid-Ohio too, too bad your Z won't be at NJMP. Is anybody else running Z's in Grand Am this year? Aside, the Motorsports are jsut the ducts, so I assume I'll have to get my Nismo bumper cut on to get them fitted, then I can use the Stillen kit if the hose they use will fit over the duct mount. NSM should just do a whole kit. I have their cold air intake and I like how its engineered and has the factory look.

I'm going to go check the Grand Am site to see which teams are entered.

Dwnshift 05-10-2012 08:42 AM

It may end up being a kit offered by Nissan motorsports parts.....if not the rest of the kit maybe offered by us. Without being frony of the car.....I believe the duct fits a 3 or 4 " hose..wr fabricated a splitter that cuts it down into 2 smaller hoses.
There may be some shots in an earlier post by another member from Barber.
The braking on the RC..is one of its strongest assets...and cooling isnt an issue.
