Nismo springs vs. Swift
Has anyone compared lap times between the stock Nismo suspension and the Swift springs on Nismo shocks around a track? I have the swift springs on nismo shocks setup. During my last DE event, my instructor was surprised that I would want to change the handling characteristics of a car with countless hours of research and development. His point was that stiffer is not always better and that you should have a certain minimum amount of body roll for proper weight transfer around a track which has been researched by the nismo engineers with a huge budget. Another instructor (thinking that I had coilovers) asked if he could soften the rear shocks to improve handling. I know that coilovers are best (adjustable, ride height, etc) but I don't want to spend that kind of money at this time. I don't know if I should keep the setup as is or swap spring back to Nismo oem for the upcoming track season... Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks--

You start changing parts, you are going to get outclass very easily. Leave it stock, buy some tires, make changes until you are ready. Once you are ready, do it right rather than cut corners.

I made the mistake of modding my car early and ended up being uncompetitive. Doesn't mean it's not still fun; just that I don't stand a chance at winning. Best mod you can make early on is the almighty driver mod.

OP, I am running swifts, hotchkis sway bars and Nismo shocks setup and all my DE instructor tell me don't change a thing. This is coming from Porsche guys. they love how balanced it is.
Stay with the swifts

In SCCA Solo competition an aftermarket CBE is allowed in the Stock class. Changes to the cat and forward to the motor would put you in to A Street Prepared (or higher depending on other mods).

I'm in ASP running stock Nismo shocks and springs....I'll swap my springs for someone willing to give their Swift springs up. It's a win-win for whomever wants to remain in a stock class. Just send a PM!

I know once I put my eibach sways on it felt like a different car. Maybe it's just my lack of experience but using the gas to get the car to turn seemed a lot easier with the sways on.
