New 1/4 mile time...
Best: 13.212 @ 106.
No time to give all the detials, but here's the pic of my slips. My car # is 370 (track guy's idea, not mine). The last two runs were against my buddy in a Pontiac G8 GT. Smoked him! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...N/IMG_7124.jpg 1st run (13.5) was early in the night, the car was hot from driving to the track, and the air was hot and humid. Not a great jump off the line. 2nd run (13.7) was the most embarrassing moment ever (more details later), but the main problem was forgetting to shift, and yes I have an auto. 3rd run (13.2) jump was on the money, shifting was on the money, time was on the money. 4th run (13.3) jump was ok (not great), car was hot from previous run. I HATE YOUTUBE |

You are a LIAR!! No proof or it didn't happen. ;)
Make sure to post your slips to dragtimes.com ^^ Auto's are faster than manuals these days btw. |
Well we shall see... we still are yet to see a good manual driver post up his times... how many manny cars have even been to the drags? cant wait to take mine in :)
|
I want to take mine to see what catback and intake would do.
|
^ lol cant wait for that load to start happening
|
Updated first post.

nice runs man :) good to see some Z's representing :) but cant wait to take mine to Laguna Seca / Infineon etc... straight lines are so boring lol

Assuming good weather holds, I'll be picking up some 7AT 370Z timeslips tonight at Houston Raceway Park, with my current relatively complete set of bolt-ons. Crossing fingers :)
|
Oh and ZforMe, any advice on launching the 7AT from your trips? So far my best street-surface launches have been to hold the car with the footbrake and bring it up to about 1800 rpm, then let the brake go and nail it. I think with a stickier track surface I might be able to do that at 2K+ without too much wheelspin, we'll see.
|
Wow! That's pretty nice! Right on the money for sure. Car # 1337 cracks me up.

Holding the foot brake down and pushing the gas, the rpm's will climb to about 3 or 3.5, at which point a computer says "not good", and limits the rpm's back down and plants them at 1.5. You can do this before you're all the way staged and just launch at this point (1.5). However, my best run was done by timing the brake/gas pedal/lights just right. Try to time it so that as the yellow lights are droping, you're hitting the 3.5 mark, so it will drop to say 2 - 2.5 at green light. This sorta happened accidentally for me on the 13.2 run, but it produced the best results. Rear tires were at apx. 26lbs. |
LOL seems to me right now that the AT is faster than the stick
|
I bet auto's will ET better than manuals all day long but a good driver in the manual should see higher traps.. but this is just speculation of course.

Nice job on the 3rd run. Reaction time + awesome 60ft = good times!
I'm starting to think this car can do 12.9 on full bolt-ons + tune. Intake + Test Pipes + CBE + tune + underdrive pulley + light flywheel + light battery + spare/tools removed. Headers might help but who knows. |
