First(best of 4) 1/8 mile run
So.... Bro in law has a true drag car, and we usually go Friday nights for test and tune and Sat for the race... Well this past weekend there was hardly anyone there friday night so I had my wife bring my car to the track sat.
Made 4 passes... with a fully loaded car (spare tire, jack, etc), full tank of 93 octane, and factory tires @ 24 pounds. GTM Stage 1 SC, OS GT Twin Disk(love this clutch), and Hotchkis Sways. (plenty of other mods, but those are the pertinent ones) R/T .291 (not my best) 60' 1.846 330 5.303 1/8 8.097 Mph 91.56 Wheel spin is an issue, slips on launch and shifting into second. TC off, but I didnt pull the brake fuse.. I see others do that instead not sure what the diff is. Enjoy.

Not a bad 60ft for street tires. But im guessing the GTM kit gets you to around ~420whp?
If so the MPH and ET seem a little low for that much power. I ran a 7.9@86 in my old 2001 Mustang GT which probably had around 330whp. (my MPH was a bit lower due to too big tires and nitrous surging) |

yea, I think I can get the times lower, but they do seem pretty close what others with FI are running. Keep in mind this is full tank of pump gas and the car fully loaded. stock tires too. AT shift times are much faster than a manual.
Wheel spin is an big issue at launch and at each shift. My 60' is pretty good, but hitting second there is a lot of wasted wheel spin. I am thinking of shifting a little sooner may help. Anyone speak to what RPM they are shifting at? Dyno'd 432 This was my first run using a tune set up by the local shop.

Yea, I do 2nd re-11. Awesome tire for the money. My best 60ft on those is 1.81. Good times bro, but you compare our cars as I drive mine like I want it to break. I run 7.9 60ft @ 90 mph. Keep up the good work. Also don't worry about 1/8 trap so much as ur dc will pile on the mph in the 2nd half of the track. To compare evenly u need to be on a 1/4 mile track. Your hardest part of drag , is 60 ft and urs is descent...keep it up.

jnaut Thanks! ON that particular run I think I got my launch RPM pretty darn close to perfect. It is tricky watching the tree, feathering the skinny peal and then dumping the clutch all at the same time. Thank goodness the tracks are sticky so the car doesnt move once set. I would love to run on a 1/4 mile track, I will get to ZMax maybe next year.
Z Elim.. what broke? ie what part should I expect to replace next Anyone snapped an axle yet? or will the rear end go first.
