New GA Track Coming, AMP

In case you don't know we here in GA are getting a new track sometime soon. Not sure exactly when for it's behind schedule but will be well worth it soon enough. It's called AMP (Atlanta Motorsports Park). Even with the little knowledge I have it seems like it's going to be a nice layout that offers much. I have been reading up on the track for about a year or so and could state a lot more but I'll let you check it out for yourself. The link I provided is for the track layout but feel free to read more about this place and what it has to offer which is a lot. I'd like to hear you guys opinons on this.

Should be open around New Year's. This is great for motorsports enthusiasts all over the region. The track is only 45mins from Forged. Without letting the cat out of the bag... :)

It's so nice to be able to build tracks easily down south. I think they have been talking about new tracks in New ENgland and New York for 10 years, none of them have materialize yet

I think I know what you are hinting at!!!!

I recently registered for my 3rd event there, this one is in March with Flatout. Hopefully it actually happens, unlike the last two.

Wish we could get at least ONE track here.

You had one. They closed it and turned it into a golf course.

That looks like a really nice layout.

Indeed. In fact, the track was designed by the same team that designed most of the modern FI tracks. Check this out from AMP's press release:

"Tilke Engineers & Architects are the famed Formula One Track designers and are responsible for nearly every modern-era Formula One track designed in the last ten years, including the circuits at Bahrain, Sepang, and Malaysia. CEO of Atlanta Motorsports Park."

On the days the track is not used by the members, it will be available to the public for rentals. I would expect to see a Grand Am Event, and plenty of SSCA/NASA action here throughout the year.

That actually surprises me because Herman Tilke is a pretty crappy designer in general terms. Most of his F1 tracks have too many useless chicanes. This one looks great, though.
