Dam you arcitc - beat me to it

here is the clip - |
With VDC off, I find it very easy to blip the throttle and induce a nice 'tail wag' around corners on dry pavement. If I really stood on the throttle during one of those maneuvers, I'm sure I could do a 360 before I realized what happened :roflpuke2:

Haven't seen that video before. Way cool...
|
...then looked at the swimsuit models' videos which were even cooler.:yum:

Drifting in Ebisu
I think there is a vid or two of some drifting at the practice course in Ebisu. I have seen at least one though in the past week. Check youtube or streetfire.

Drifting with a 370Z ;)

^ ooooo some very sexy rims on that Z. nices moves as well.
|
I haven't tried it yet, way too hard on all the parts, maybe when she gets a little older.
Kind of funny how drifting is so popular now. Auto, performance and tire manufacturers have spent the last 50+ years trying to get cars to stick and not drift for racing, and now we've just went and messed things up :icon17: |
I have gotten the Z to drift several times and I love how progressive the chassis handles the throttle modulation. I mean I can get the car to step out just a weee bit or I can make it take a Godzilla step out around corners scaring lil women and children along the way :D hehe The car should be very easy to control and will if taking the correct line step out progressively and smoothly! Remember its all throttle control ;) GL and be safe!

What are the best tires for it?

If you can't smell your own tires, you're not trying hard enough. The Z easily breaks the rear end loose with VDC off at any reasonable gearing and speed. |
umm ^s kinda silly... save those RE050s... get some cheap toyos to drift with... you will EAT up your stock tires if you slide around much in them...

I am going to try to put my stock Rays on my wifes new RHD supra when I pull them off

If not then you don't have the viscous lsd. Only one wheel whill spin (most of the time) that is why its so difficult to get your 370 sideways. For those stating its easy to drift, they have the sp pckg along with the lsd. |

My last car was a G35 and comparatively the 370Z is harder to get the rear end to come around. Of course it can be done but you need to really draw on a lot of power.
But IMHO this is a good thing. The 370Z is so much more balanced; so much more confidence inspiring. It's nice to know that you can really get on the throttle exiting a corner and the car almost magically pivots. Probably not the best for drifting but certainly better for road racing (on a track of course...). And this car is much faster than my old G35. |
another drift/slide vid

its difficult to drift. easy to break loose, but hard to keep it. snaps u back very hard. the 350 for some reason was a piece of cake for me. maybe its the shorter/wider wheelbase
|
I think I was having trouble breaking loose when I got the Z, because the tires were so sticky. Now that I'm at 5K miles, it's a bit easier :D
