In very hot weather you can be 3/10 slower. That still puts you in mid 13's. You either can't drive, or your mods don't work together well, & you're actually losing H.P. I would contact Jnaut. He has a performance auto shop. Check your 370z site. His car does low 12's with just mods......

I went to the track when it was 102 out and I have a vert with full exhoust and test pipes and I hit best 13.8 that day. I had no oil cooler and my car was running at at Least 240 deg. The whole day . But yea if it was cooler out u would def. Hit better #s. What is your 6o foot and what is your mph speed?

wait until it cools off and try again. also, you want your oil temp gauge below 220, preferrably 180-200 before starting the run. The ECU starts to pull power at 220, possibly a little before but by 220 its seat of the pants noticable. Oil cooler barely helps in situations like the drag strip because of limited airflow... your mostly putsing around the return lane and pits heat soaking up everything, and the only time you have airflow you are at full throttle anyway... so let the car cool off to 180 oil temp before getting it ready to line up, so its hopefully still under 200 by the time you start the run.
And if your 60' isnt in the 1.8 or better, you need to work on your launch. I was able to get 1.88 and 1.89 on bald stock sport wheels/tires with a stock car, so you should be able to do better than that if you have some decent tires.

The tires I got are stock from when I bought the car. Also, I don't spin the tires with a burnout before I pull up to the line. I just pull up and start in my 1st gear. Tires are too expensive to do burnouts in this car lol. I may not know how to drive the 1/4 mile properly lol.

When 5 of us went to the track we all had a trap speed of 102 including a Nismo and we all had bolt ons. Only person that ran 12.9 was chuckd that day with a 109 I believe . Cars dint wanna run. We had 3 manuals and 2 autos. My best 60 was 2.1 with the stock vert wheels and tiers (they suck).

Drag slicks would give you the best times, but other than that you definitely want summer tires. I think the Bridgestone RE-11's are pretty popular around the forum. |
