Z eliminator vs the GTR

So what do you guys think will my GTM stage 2 beat a GTR in the 1/4 mile.
The SC should be on my car soon . (Sam please ship it soon).
I calculate that it will go easy 11.4's vs a stock GTR @ 11.74.
Plus i will have a VB and some tranny programing with the UP REv.

A bone stock GTR yes, anything beyond that no.

Paskii 07-05-2011 07:18 AM

Yes I think so for a 2009-2011 GTR, I believe Motortrend reported 2012 doing quarter mile in 11.2 secs

RCZ 07-05-2011 01:24 PM

I calculate that your calculations are not realistic and you're going to run 11.8 on a good day.

MC 07-05-2011 01:42 PM

a stock 09-11 GTR should be 11.5's in a real world scenario.... in my 09 i ran 11.3@122 with just a midpipe and exhaust no tune or anything

with the 2012 i ran a 11.2@125 and the traction was terrible.. the car is capable of a 10.9

SPOHN 07-05-2011 08:22 PM

I don't know if it could. But it would be nice to see. I know you have the traction taken care of for your car. But the traction on a GTR is hard to beat when comparing the two.

Kcuba370z 07-05-2011 09:16 PM

if its a 2012 then no chance,09-11 then if its stock i guess but'd it'd have to be a REALLY GOOD DAY

I think that you calculations on his calculations are of by 33.33%. that is according to my calculations. You show me your calculations and then I will show you mine.

I say 11.5-11.6 depending on how much power the stage 2 puts out to the ground on your car.

60ft time will be a big key

i ran a 11.3-11.4's in the 122's with a only 1.81 in a 09

just last month when i ran my 11.2's@125 in the 12 i could only get 1.74's as i was spinning off the line alot with the 4K rpm launch but was up to a 7.2@99 in the 1/8th

on a great prepped track weve seen 1.60's out of stock 12's

stock 09-11's with the lower 2.5- 3K rpm launch will probably only see 1.80's

here are some slips to base some comparisons from

my 2009 run and my 2012 run

Nitrouz 07-05-2011 10:34 PM

I ran 11.54@119 in my bone stock 09 GTR without launch control and full auto mode.

I mean Z does say a lot when it comes to what he will do, but for the most part he backs it up.. If his car is doing 12.4@114 and he adds another 100 whp he should be able to shave at least a second off his time...

But chances are if a GTR owner is going to the track he will or prob already has modded the car which would make the car a lot more difficult to beat. Z's car is automatic and he has a stall and valve body upgrade, and the best tires so it certainly stands a chance...

Last time I went to the track I beat a modded c5 Z06 twice... that was a good defeat for me but is my car faster than a heavily modded 02 z06.. no, it shouldn't be, but that day it was... so anything can happen... But good luck to you!

I wish i lived in Canada for drag racing purposes... you still have perfect weather... keep us posted on your N/A passes for now...

On a side note, what is your conclusion on the m370? Is your car faster with it?

Z eliminator 07-06-2011 06:53 AM

Well the weather was not good for the Ontario Z drag day . the DA was 1890 and it got worse as the day went on. Can not wait for those cool sept, oct nights to run the car in the low 40's.
The best i got was 12.67 that day, and i had to work for it.
When i get to race a GTR i can assure you guys it will be all out. If i blow the engine and i beat him it will not matter.
My RWHP will go from 309 to lets say a conservituve 475 SAE. RWHP. Thats an extra 166 rwhp. and im still going to use the 4.08 gears with hopefully a VB.
There one up here thats fully done to the 9's and he ran 11.21 in the 1/4 with no helmut before they through him off the track.
I will post the DYNO #'s on the GTM stage 2 and i will post what ever RWHp it makes to see if GTM is making the power what they claim.
Im looking at getting full slicks for he 370 z . The problem is the back rim. need a 16 inch to fit.
The weather up her is hot with the humidex in the mid 90's not good for racing.

The time slips for the GTR are really good. Very nice times

Z Elim, if I remember correctly, you once said you weren't gonna go all out on the kit. That you weren't going to run the crazy boost pulley combination because you wanted the motor to last. I hope you do make 475hp, but I disagree when you say that's in any way conservative. I saw you talking about 500+whp in another thread also. Compared to that, yup, its conservative, but in reality to make 500whp on the SC, you gotta be making like 550... I just don't know that the SC will pump out that much power man, specially on the non-extreme setup you're going for. I'm not trying to put you or the kit down, I hope it makes as much power as you want it to, I'm just skeptical that SC is the best way to do it. Frankly, I'm really surprised you didnt go TT on a drag car.
