Any chance of providing oil temp sensor mounting locations? Didn't see any in the pictures.

We decided against providing a temp sensor bung for a couple reasons. The first of which is that the factory temp sensor is already on the outlet side, which is providing the temperature of the oil in the pan, so the information from a sensor in the pan would be redundant. The second reason is that anytime you add a bung or sensor, we insist that we have a good reason to do so, because no matter how good the design is, a hole with a fastener in it will never be as reliable as solid material.

If you are running a cooler, and want to monitor it's effectiveness/temperature drop, then adding your additional temp sensor inline after the cooler is the proper place for that. In fact, this is just what we have done with our race cars.

I agree but I'm running two sensors in the AAM oil pan spacer I have now. One for the Defi gauge and the other for the oil cooler fan. I like where they are and it gives me good oil temp control and indication.

Mine's installed now. Wasting time on the forums while I wait for the Ultra Grey to cure a little before refilling my oil. Only complication was removing my old AAM oil pan spacer that's been on the past 14K miles (breaking the old ultra grey to separate the solid spacer from the block). Details at the end of the journal thread if you're looking at the same swap.

Update from my first couple of days running with the new oil pan. Cruising oil temps are down about 8 degrees under normal conditions vs the spacer setup I had before. Also, my initial fill was almost exactly 6 quarts (slightly under), given the extra drainage from having the pan off (keep in mind I have a cooler too, but with the fittings on top).

One question I didn't see answered in the instruction booklet: is there any gasket or O-ring on the new drain plug that needs replacing on oil changes?

If that's true about the 8F temperature difference, could be a very good thing! I'm going to be challenged to manage oil temps with a single core once my SC kit arrives, and 8F will be a big help

any track events coming up where you could tell us how it does with max temps?

Next time my car will be in track conditions will be MSR's "Red Meat and Race Fuel" next Thursday the 25th. I don't think any SCCA stuff is coming up until mid-late Sept.

Nope, just torque it to 25 pounds!

I didn't see any temperature drop that was apparent under track conditions. 1.5 engines were destroyed by poor oil pickup this weekend (both LSx engines) so I'm very happy I have this.

One was fatal, rod through the block, bits of piston scattered through the engine. The other was a spun rod bearing and appears to be repairable.

I have seen temps drop since install. About 10 degree drop overall.
