Default What size radial with 4.08's

I can hit 120 in the top of 4th right now with my mods and 4.08s , So i go through in 4th gear...

I can get 305/35/18 MT ET street radials

OR

Nitto NT05R radials in 305/45/18

MT's are shorter than stock diameter by about an inch...

Nittos are taller by about an inch....

So one would raise my gear ratio and one would lower it... Im confused as to which would do what... I believe the taller tire would lower my gear ratio down to 3.9x , and the smaller one would raise it , correct?

Which one should I order??

gonna PM this to jNaut the king of all 1/4 mile stuff as well, lol...

thanks fella's

et street...
not a big fan nt-05

according to my calculations, you will be going 119mph @7500rpm to 123mph @8k rpm, so i would go an inch short than stock as it will bring to closer to redline 4 forth through the traps

all the info is with 285/35/19 with 4.08 and manual gears box, GL

Yea I'm pretty sure with my 6m I should still be in 4th. Going into
5th would be a buzzkill

On a side note I saw NT05R's on a 5.0 auto stang And he was cutting 1.75's. Thru seemed to get the job done too.

I think you have it backwards. The shorter tires are going to lower your speed in gear.

Best way to think of it is in terms of revolutions:
engine revolutions * gear ratio * final drive ratio = axle revolutions

Distance traveled per gear at max RPM is therefor a factor of tire circumference as distance will equal axle revolutions * tire circumference

Edit: Okay jnaut has it right, just saw the raised RPM for new trap

Hmm...give it a shot without. Like I said, I have no vibrations...but I do have the hub ring for the 15mm Spacers I have in the rear. Great tire choice! Want to swap? My 275s will be plenty for your NA car.

Are you sure that they are going to let you run spacers at the drag strip?
They may not let you run them.
You should check with the track.
Up here they are not very friendly about people using them.

The tech guys at Englishtown said nothing about me qearog basketball shorts let alone checking behind my wheels for spacers lol. I had jeans with me but they said
Nothing. Next time I think I may try the two spares up Front trick lol. Free weight savings that's to good Z buddies having extra spares.

But I don't think me or intrigue need spacers with te 18x10 +22 offset wheels.
