Bridgestone RE-11's 285/35/19 or 305/30/19
Hankook Ventus R-S3 275/35/19 or 305/30/19

I would think the wider the tire you can fit on there, the better grip you should be able to get. I think longer of those would be ok. From a drag racing point of view, maybe go with the 305's that are lighter in weight. I'm no expert though, just basing this on what I've read and experienced from draw racing myself.

Car is lowered, so that hurts your traction because of the increase in negative camber. Stiffer springs and lower center of gravity also kill weight transfer. 18 psi is waaaay too low for street tires at the strip. My 60' times get worse if I go below 29 psi, plus it kills your MPH at the big end. Wide tires with a small stiff sidewall do not increase straight line traction. tall tires with a huge soft sidewall do. I've heard disconnecting the front sway does nothing for increasing traction ( besides lower weight when removed ) on an independent rear susension car because we load the rear tires evenly. The diferential is mounted to the chassis and is not suspended by the springs like a live axle car.

I lowered the car and corrected my camber setting with SPC Arms, running (-1.5) rear camber, witch is on the positive side of factory settings (-1.2 to -2.2). As for the springs Tein's are comparable to Nismo spring rates, tough they are progressive not linear and the car sits lower, but should be pretty much similar in getting of the line weight transferring, here's a comparison :

OEM Spring Rates
F: (7.5 kgf/mm) R: (8.1 kgf/mm)
Stock Nismo rates
F: (8.6 kgf/mm) R-(9.3 kgf/mm)
Tein S-tech
F: 8.5kg (-0.9") R 9.4kg (-0.7")

I will try running higher psi when I go back to the track, but this will be after getting new tires, as you say, small stiff sidewalls do not help in straight line, this is the reason why I'm leaning on the RE-11's 285/35 or R-S3 275/35, still undecided, every street tire class is now dominated by RS3's, if these were to come in 285/35 they'd be my choice, the only reason why i haven't decided.

Not sure If disconnecting the front bar is helping or not at the moment, but most of the guys running big hp rwd cars do so to help their 60', have always read "The front sway bar’s job is to transfer weight from the left front to the right front. By disconnecting the sway bar (or better yet, remove it to also eliminate weight), the front end is now able to transfer more weight to the rear tires"; I'll try to do a couple of runs with and without and see if it's helping or not.

thanks for your advices

We have pretty good luck with Nitto NT05 tires on our high horsepower (600 plus to the tire) Challengers. They still blow off at the strip so I use slicks, but it might work well in the 370.

And if you are going to set it up for drag, try to get rear camber as close to 0 as you can.

What tire size you run with the Nitto's?

Yes, will do. Getting the most out of the tires contact patch will help a lot.

I have 20" wheels so either a 275/40R20 or a 315/35R20 I believe.

Every car and track is different, you kinda have to figure it out by trial & error. Of course is helps to get tips on what to try out but in the end it is up to the driver.

What were most of the other cars running that day? If the majority of the other drivers/cars there were struggling to run decent 60ft times, it usually means that the track prep was pretty sh*tty that day.

In your case, shortshifting 2nd gear may help. Other than that I'm not sure what would help because I've never driven/raced a 7AT 370Z. Maybe the others here can help you out.

I highly recommend RE-11's.. IMO you're better off with the 285's

Werd. I've got mine set to about -0.6 degrees of camber in the rears. Although with the the RE-11's and the upgraded tires, it actually became more difficult to launch the car (w/o bogging). It almost felt like I had too much traction and the only way to remedy that is to let out the clutch harder and/or launch at a higher RPM. It makes me feel uneasy when you can launch at 4000 RPM then all of the sudden [after the mods] you have to go up to 4500 RPM to avoid bogging at the launch.

Well I went to the track for the first time last night. I was pretty impressed first run was my best with a 13.69. I was going to be happy just being in the 13s. My friend was saying I would be lucky in the 14s being my first time. He was pretty pissed how quick I ran. Ive got a lot to improve. Ill post up my slips in a bit. I did beat on a WRX pretty good so that made me happy.

Default might go to Lebanone Valley Drags tomorrow

Last year my 350z was completely flooded(total loss). I decided to buy my car back from the ins. comp. & re-wire it. After many changes/much work(not by me, I'll see tomorrow if it's race worthy, if it doesn't break down

I'll be running my street conti tires & of course it has no tune. I'll be happy if I get a few runs in & am able to drive home. As far as times???? With those tires I'll pop the clutch a bit above idle & see if I can break 13.5 @ 105.

I'll post results late Sat. Weather should be nice.
