Rim size selection for race rubber
A shop recently agreed to get me some deals on wheels that I could use for my race rubber. I was given the option of
18x9.5 with 35mm all around 18x9.5 with 35mm in front 18x10 with 22mm in rear I might also be able to do 18x9.5 45mm in front 18x9.5 25mm in rear What do you guys think I should go with? I am on stock height/suspension and I plan to run 275-295 all around, definitely no stagger tire size. I haven't decided on tires yet, probably going to be R6/NT01s/BFG R1. 35mm seems the best as I currently that setup with my 5Zigens. Here is the problem with the 35mm. The front sits flush if not protrude a few mm past the fender, I am afraid of rubbing issue if I go any bigger, especially if I go 295. The rear is so tucked in that it looks absolutely stupid. The benefit of a stagger setup is easier tire rotation and maintainence. Since I already have a square setup, I am thinking about trying the stagger ones again. What do you guys think? |

I run 18x9.5 +46 with 275s. To solve the offset problem, I use 15mm rear H&R spacers and can still rotate the tires. It works out well. So my first choice would be 4 of 9.5 +45 offset and good quality spacers.
Otherwise I would do the +45 front +25 rear of your above choices.

Even though you already have a square setup, I think the Z needs to be run with a square setup for perform properly.
If the 35mm is too low up front, maybe switch to the 45mm up front. If you're comfortable with spacers, you could run 45mm all around with spacers in the rear. |
