Can't drift my Z

well guys i have a problem. The other night I was trying to drift and I fail my diferential for some reason didnt lock, and VDC was off. Is there anything I can do to lock the diferential in my 370z touring? or my Z is not made for drifting, only the sport P can?

I'm curious how you were trying to drift the car. What exactly was limiting you from putting the car into a slide and keeping it there? I'm not a drifter myself, but I don't think anyone would be able to help unless they know what technique you are trying to use and what is happening when you are doing it.

The non-sport package cars use an open differential, so you're not going to get any lock.

Hope you were on a closed course. :)

With enough room on the track you should be able to start the drift no problem, however without a limited slip differential your going to have difficulty keeping it there. Aftermarket is the way to go.

ABLS will kick in at some point anyway, pointless

Great answer. +1.

I can feel my insurance go up as we speak. I really hope this wasn't on a public road. I don't think there are any cars designed specifically to drift. In fact, I'm pretty sure engineers designed the car to be fast around corners.

Anyway, mustang is right, the touring w/o sport, doesn't have a LSD. Even if you had the sports package though, you should probably upgrade the LSD if you plan on doing any serious drifting. There are a few threads on that upgrade if you do a search.

Active Brake Limited Slip. It sends a brake pulse to the spinning rear wheel, a poor man's LSD. It can be disabled by disconnecting the Bosch module under the center console next to the e-brake.

The stagger tires/ABLS/suspension all made the 370 less slide friendly than the 350. If you have to ask how to do it, chances are that you can't do it :)

"All right, look, man, there's lots of ways you can do this, all right?

Hand brakingis the easiest, so the first thing I want you to do,is rip that e-brake.All right, after you rip the e-brake,then I want you to power over." :roflpuke2:

get an lsd, rain and an open space, then practice...then realign the car...
