i might do it if the car is 10k and not 30k, money talks

for those who dont know, the steering on that car makes a clunking noise if you do quick transition, quite annoying

Yes, i joined just to reply to this thread. The Stock srt-6 would win 4 out of 5 times. They trap 107-110 stock. Which is a bit higher than the 370z. I raced a stock manual 370 at the track when i was stock and won easily every time. Now, it trapped similar mph so no doubt with a good driver or the 7 speed auto it would be a good race. My point is , srt-6s are notoriously consistent. On a douchebag note, A few guys are deep in the 11's with no exhaust mods, juice, or meth. Signing off- Troll.

I love trolls.

I like trolls they're cute. Though I'm gonna be a real man and admit that I've always thought the Crossfire SRTs were pretty hot looking.

Lulz 04-02-2011 07:59 PM

Seriously tho. I want a 370 bad. I've always been a high reving N/A man at heart. Front bumper is finally growing on me. Any low 12 sec N/A 370z out there yet?

One_Quick_Z 04-02-2011 09:02 PM

Yes 12.3 is the quickest yet.

I ran a 12.9 while spinning through 3rd last year because the track was so cold. With my set up of current bolt-ons mid 12's should be reasonable.

I ran a 12.986 stock :)

jnaut ran a 12.24 with N/A 370Z 6MT. He would have done even better with drag radials.

Going to necro this thread. To answer the question, it depends. It likely wouldn't be a better driver scenario considering the SRT6 is stupidly easy to drive, if you stick the already easy launch it's all car after that.

The SRT6 has a handbuilt engine so rwhp can range from about 280 to 310. If you're unlucky enough to run across one above 300whp you'll lose. Those tend to run consistent 12.8-12.9. Mine can run 13 flat and I don't really consider myself the best at launching (I pull 2 second 60' times where 1.8 seems to be stock).

So in a straight I'd put money on the SRT6 more often than not but I'll admit a 370Z would rip the SRT a new one on a road course which is a huge improvement after the 350Z Nismo vs SRT6.

Also the troll mentioning the 11's range, he's right and it only takes about 4 grand or so to reach low 11's (or less than a grand if you cheat and spray, the bottom end and stock head can handle at least 550hp, nobody has broken them so we don't know), that coupled with the 13-15k price on the car itself makes it the best bang for the buck right now. You guys have a good car though, in a straight line it's on par with a 10 year old low-end Mercedes AMG car ;) Seriously though I have respect for the 370Z, really nice power out of a N/A V6 which is something you'd expect out of a high end exotic or luxury brand.

Aren't there only a few thousand of these things? Probably have the same chance of being hit by lightening as going against one of those.

Hey Dan,

Previously you posted your car should be in the mid 12's. Has it happened?
