What RPM do you launch at?

I just want to get a general consensus about the most "correct" or "best" rpm to launch at. I was practicing my launch earlier this morning and I found that

I just want to get a general consensus about the most "correct" or "best" rpm to launch at. I was practicing my launch earlier this morning and I found that even at 2k rpm, I was have super wheel spin. I tried launching again at 1.5k rpm and it seems to grip better, but still had wheel spin. I also would like to know the proper way to launch. I shift to 1st, clutch all the way in, gas pedal steady at the desired rpm, and then when ready, I floor the gas pedal and release the clutch pedal. Am I doing it right?
