VIDEOS: Nismo Z at the strip and dyno
Made my second trip to the drag strip and ran a lil better than the first due to cooler weather. If you didn't see my first thread of videos click this link:
VIDEOS: Nismo 370z at the strip My best pass last night was a 13.489 @ 104.51 with a 60 ft. of 2.018 with DA corrections from drag times thats a 13.226 @ 106.634. I also ran: 13.663 @ 104.78 13.646 @ 104.44 13.663 @ 104.15 13.682 @ 104.58 13.651 @ 104.57 13.788 @ 104.22 13.781 @ 104.37 13.792 @ 104.78 Here are a few vids from last night at the strip and also a few vids from a few weeks ago on the dyno.... the car made 320.39 rwhp and 256.84 rwtq. I was planning on posting my charts but my wife accidentally threw them away. The dyno was on a dynojet. The guy who owns it generally works on LSx motors and said the dyno generally reads 2-3% lower than other dynojets due to the fact its an older model and he has moved back and forth between Indiana and Florida 3 times. Anyways enjoy the vids guys. Solo vs. 2009 BMW 135i vs. ??? vs. 2003 Mustang GT exhaust and intake Solo DYNO Pull DYNO Pull #2 |

Great vids Johnny. Im glad you went back to the track again, you seemed a little discouraged after your last visit.
What were you launching at this time and were any changes made in your driving style or setup from the last visit? |

Very cool vids! You are pretty damn consistent. The 60's are really nice for a NISMO, too. I know how hard they can be to hook up and go.

Thanks guys I appreciate the replies. I launched at lower rpms this trip (2000-2500) as opposed to 3000-4000. I also was shortshifting into second as opposed to redlining every gear to eliminate some wheel spin. The nismo still chirps 3rd and 4th the traction just isn't there hence my times got slower as the night went on due to a cooler track temp. My fastest times were when the sun was still up. Im pretty happy with my time even tho I still feel its a faster car than that... the nismo just doesn't hook that well at the strip.

Yep, about the only thing you could do is pick up a dedicated track wheel/tire combo for the rear.

Haha funny u ask I wondered if people would notice that. Its one of my best friends wife. I gave her **** for it. She's not really a drag strip kinda girl so I guess she thought picking her nose was more interesting than watching me drive in a straight line

Nice videos! I like that your track has a stand behind the strip makes for a good view of the whole run.
I have notice if my tire pressure is too low I will spin my tires a lot more. With too much you get wheel hop so I keep my pressure in the rears at 30 - 32 psi, what did you run your tires at on these run? The first time I went out to the track a year ago I did not change the pressure and was running 39psi in the rear major wheel hop if I pushed it too hard in 1st. But this made for some really fast trap speeds got 109mph with just Takeda SRI and ERZ HFC but with a - DA 45F temps. Hopefully with the M370 Manifold I will crack the 12s this Friday and maybe a 110mph trap but we will see.
