VIDEOS: Nismo 370z at the strip

The Nismo just isn't a good drag car period. I found this out last night when I went to the strip. It's due to the fact that there is absolutely no weight transfer due to the stiff suspension. The rear doesn't squat whatsoever... I've made mine even worse by putting lowering springs on it. I made 5 passes my best 60 ft. time was 2.128 and 13.827 @ 102.8. I also ran...

So I was fairly consistent. The car just isn't meant to drag. I've dragged many of street cars but just can't launch the Nismo hard enough to get a good ET. Still had fun and was still faster than 90% of the cars up there but was disappointed at the same time. The car would've beat just about anything if we were doing a 30 MPH roll.. oh well need to take it to a road course where it will really shine. Below are some videos of my passes.

DA was 2279 so my adjusted best time would be 13.459 @ 104.939.

I have to admit, though, your starts were slower than every other car you raced against except the Vette...there's your 60-ft right there..............

Yea I spent the whole night trying to chase people down... let about 10lbs of air pressure out of the rears and tried launching the car everywhere from 3500-4500 just doesn't launch that great and wont sit at all. Like launching a GoKart... if you could just drag race with a lil roll out it would be a much faster car. I reeled everyone in (except the z06 of course, that thing is so sick in 3rd) and ran faster mph than everyone (except the z06). Makes me look even slower off the line bc I got wholeshotted by everyone (again except the z06). Was just trying to concentrate on the launch and wasn't worried about getting off the line just wanted the rpms to be where I wanted them

It's at O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, IN. They just had the U.S. Nationals there last weekend. Planning on doing some autocross first as there are events every weekend in my area and maybe roadcourse in October bc I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on an oil cooler but could do autocross without it. Anyways whatever I do I'll be sure to record.

so you said you did beat all of them except the z06?

no but I ran a faster E.T. and MPH then them all but I was getting nailed off the line, wasn't really concerned with RT just wanted to launch the car at the specific RPM I was wanting for that particular run
