Default First Day at Track with Z

So I kind of knew what I had instore as I held off on installing an oil cooler until I saw exactly what the car did... well it sucked. Within three laps at Infineon the oil temps were hitting 280+ and the car pulled power at 6k RPM. Even when I short shifted to avoid 6k it felt as though it was down on power.

What I was surprised to encounter was when I pulled into the pits to swap passengers there was a noticable issue with the clutch easing into first and if I had to put in in reverse it was far worse. Damn thing would just buck and fight. Gave up and just circled around instead of reversing. All of that went away once the car cooled down.

I had bled the brakes with Motul and swapped pads and the brakes worked fine. Neglected to bleed the clutch as I've never had to do that with any of my other track cars... is this the issue?

XP10s with Motul. Worked very well.

The OEM internal slave has been problematic for many people. I would start by switching to Motul fluid for your clutch, and give it a thorough bleeding.

Glad you liked those pads..they are pretty awesome on stock brakes.

Ordered the race cooler from Josh @ Stillen, arrived 2-days later with free shipping, goes in on Wednesday along with a full flush of the clutch with Motul (how much fluid will likely be needed on the clutch btw?). We'll see how she performs after all that.

It doesn't take much fluid to flush the clutch as it is a short line, 1/2 a pint probably.

Thanks... just wanted to make sure I have enough on hand. Still have an unopened bottle of Motul so it sounds like I should be good.
