A couple of my laps at Calabogie

Testing the AE Performance oil cooler. Hit 260F in this session, running Nitto NT01 tires, BC ER coilovers and AP Racing brakes.

That is a really pretty track. Do you go to 3Balls events often? I'll be at Grattan on the 11th. :)

nice driving, it was fun watching you eat up those german cars.

It was my first 3Balls event, it was a special joint event with our New England club. The track is absolutely gorgeous, easily one of the best tracks in the North East.

Closest track to you is Monticello, another great new track. It is actually a private club track but for the last 2 years they have rented days to outside clubs, but next year they say it will be closed to the public. SCDA will be there on 10/4, I'm thinking of going as it may be my last chance to drive it.

cossie1600 09-03-2010 11:49 AM

Just make sure your car is in good shape, the track is notoriously tough on cars/bearings/tires

chris, what is the thumping and clacking noise under braking? ABS?

ChrisSlicks 09-03-2010 11:53 AM

At the last event there (which I wasn't at) 1 of the Corvette Z06's toasted their brake calipers, another 2 cracked rotors. Very demanding track, need a good oil cooler if you want to stay on the gas.

Calabogie was quite a drive, about 8 1/2 hours total. 3 1/2 hours to the Canadian boarder from my house, up to Montreal, west to Ottawa and then another hour from there. The slowest spots were the horrible Montreal traffic and roads, and hitting Ottawa at 5pm on a Friday. We were convoying with some car trailers and our convoy had a flat on the way up and one on the way back.

Yikes, i did 10 hours to VIR, I think I am done traveling for a while. I might do the Glen with NASA in November

ChrisSlicks 09-03-2010 12:48 PM

VIR is 12 hours from me, the only reason I haven't been there yet :)
