Its a hugely popular car out here, too. One of my Pizza delivery guys drives a white 335i coupe.

335 is nice, but the lack of LSD kills it, not to mention it overheats even more than our Z's. They can't fit big rubber and they are heavy. Parts for them are expensive too. They do sound nice though and they are well balanced like all BMW's. Whoever said they are boring has never driven one...even my sisters old 325i was fun to drive.

i used to own a bmw and the salesman who had sold it to me used to be a rolls royce salesman. every time he talked to me about the bmw, he would refer to it as 'a machine'
for example, 'how is your machine doing?'

thats funny... bmw workers/owners tend to put there cars on a pedistool and that's why there is a lot of judgements about bmw owners, but in reality it really most of them are nearly perfected cars.

A 370z is gonna need a lot more than just boltons + tune to catch up to a M3.
lol...
M3's are serious, even in stock form.

One of my closer friends has an 07 335i. He pretty much has full bolt ons, and a procede tune putting down about 400 wheel on stock turbos. Just waiting for meth injection and an lsd. The thing is a blast to drive. He does claim there is a "bmw tax" on pretty much everything, its ridiculous what he has to pay for parts and upgrades. Also he is on his 4th fuel pump. Honestly my Z cannot keep up at all. However I can get better autocross times :]

And since M3s don't make a whole lot of power with bolt-ons, a fully bolted and tuned 370Z will have no problem hanging with a modded M3.

And since the boring 3-series interior carries over to the M3...I passed.
M3's stock trap around 112, modded I've seen as high as 117-119 *boltons*. I don't think any non FI 370's have touched those type of traps.

stock for stock, our 370z would eat em up. plus we paid 10k less than they did.

our aftermarket support is slow its sad...i have high hopes for when they crack VVEL and adjust it

Lots of flaws with BMWs. They are consistently on lowest reliability listings from all quality rating systems. They have some real design flaws too. My neighbor owns a very successful BMW repair shop. He's a millionaire! That wasn't from working on nearly perfected cars. LOL!

Just look at reliability/quality reports on Mini and BMW are consistently rated the worst.
