BUMP: $120 So Cal track day - timing included!!

Registration is now open:

Inexpensive HPDE Track Event ($120 each day or $220 for both days) at Streets at Willow on July 31st and August 1st hosted by Xtreme Speed Track Events. Timing is included!

Extreme Speed Track Events

This will be a wide open, relaxed run atmosphere and a great place to try out your 370, 350, 300, or any other Z or car on track. Beginners please feel free to solicit instruction and tips from the instructors and experienced drivers... including ridealongs.

Check the website for details or reply to this thread with questions. I'll be there both days, but will also try to make the Fontana Nissan Meet on Sunday.

I'm not the fastest driver but will be happy to give rides in the 370Z for those just starting out. Here's a quick video mashup of the track... all levels of experience welcomed!

Hope to see some of you there!

Dude you were ripping! Nice laps, I have been out to Willow with my sport bikes a bunch of times. On the big track and on the streets, and it is alot of fun. Didn't your car get rock chips from all of the cars. Though you were passing most of them so you probley rocked them out.

Thanks mang! Just havin' fun. I didn't get many rock chips, but I don't mind them so much. Most guys use painters tape to cover the front end, side mirrors, and wheel arches but my car isn't a show piece so a few blemishes don't bother me. I do try to keep it shiney side up, though, so I push it but don't push it to the limits. A really good driver can do a lot more with this car.

Like everyone, I highly recommend an oil cooler, especially as it is summer time. You'd probably only get a few laps before the limp home mode kicks in. Even with my cooler I push for a few laps, ease back for a few, then push again, etc., despite the fact that it will go 12-15 laps without the oil heating up. That just helps the brakes, tranny and diff, etc. too, so that's my method.

And if you'd just like to check it out, come on up and spectate. Find me and I'll give you a ride in my car. I did that before tracking my own car almost a decade ago and was able to decide that the hobby/sport was for me. If you do get an oil cooler, you should be fine.

Cmike2780 07-22-2010 07:38 PM

You west coast guys have all the fun.

RedlineZ 07-23-2010 03:59 PM

There's still lots of open space... about 30 drivers on Saturday and 20 drivers on Sunday. Which means we may open up the run groups so participants will get over 3-4 hours of track time!! For only $120!! This is going to be fun... :D

If I didn't already sell my track tires & wheels (to the OP coincidentally) and my track brake pads I would for sure take the Z there for one last hoorah before I sell it. I never did get a time out of the Z I was happy with at that track. :( Have fun out there.
