jtown82 07-03-2010 08:02 PM

i posted this on the ls1tech.com website haha since you can see you beat a transam in the run also. good runs. did you take out the spare and jack and such also? i know its a dumb question but it helps. also how much gas was in your tank?

Mercennarius 07-03-2010 11:39 PM

Z eliminator, why are you opting for a supercharger rather then a turbocharged setup????

chuckd05 07-04-2010 04:15 PM

found it, this is hilarious, you have the ones who actually make unbiased opinions, then you get the fanboys, unfortunate really.

370z vs ls1 dragstrip - LS1TECH

haha very nice!!

96bigbody 07-04-2010 11:59 PM

My 01 camaro was in the 12's with just an intake. :happydance:

wolf370z 07-05-2010 12:27 AM

In case you haven't noticed (in fact you would never guess) but I am indeed Mr370z on that forum. Some of the LSX :nutswinger:'s are huge haters and cannot respect a car that doesn't come with an LSX block.

Personally I think there are some very nice and very cool car enthusiasts on the forum who can appreciate the 370z for offering v8-like performance out of a v6 and great handling at the price. However, not everyone on that site is. So I like to make appearances time to time to defend our lovable Japanese sports cars from all the haters, lol!

Z eliminator 07-05-2010 12:20 PM

Im going to the track Wed. night just to try a burnout by taking out the lamp fuse.
hopefully it will get me into the 1.86 60 ft times with hot sticky drag radials.

RCZ 07-05-2010 06:51 PM

Not fairr....Z elim is on drag radials!

i hear ya... i like money. how hot is it really? its damn hotttt down here, humidity is like 1000%!!

Sibze 07-07-2010 09:47 PM

It was 110 here yesterday not sure today

Z eliminator 07-07-2010 09:59 PM

To hot to race the car tonight. dynoed t last night and it made 304 rwhp. Temp was 94.3 degrese. Intake ar temp was 100.
The humdex was over 105 today.

chuckd05 07-07-2010 10:57 PM

I went and it was def too hot to race... BUT we did anyway, lol..

My best was a 13.4@103.9 , Basically .5 slower ET and 4 MPH slower than last trip when it was 71 degrees.

It was 103 degrees when the track opened at 6 and 94 degrees when we left at 8pm.. 61% humidity i think ? Im gonna find out the DA, but conditions were terrible to say the least..

got a decent 60 = 2.01 60 but with the slicks again that disapointing.... but even with the 2.0 I couldnt do better than a 13.4. Oil temps were below 220 for 2 out of 6 runs and around 240 for the other 4... The car took a thrashing tonight. I tried to let it sit , than they announced the early closing time and forced me to run it HOT.

IMO it was a waste of my time..

There was litteraly about 10 cars at the track... 10 people who wasted their time , lol.

I Also launched the car at 4500 RPMS and it gripped like crazy and actualy bogged down every time... I refused to launch any higher, the heat just messed everything up.. Last time 3500 would produce wheel spin but still pulling 1.95's , absolutely no wheel spin tonight with the MT Streets.

My friends automatic that weighed in 150 lbs more than me due to kit, system, etc. managed a 13.3 @ 105 which was pretty good.. Both have full bolt ons/tune.... Im guessing my car or its tune is a little more whacked out from the heat ... my oil hit 270 at one point today. The car just overall felt like crap. My previous best was 12.9 his 13.0.

On a side note a Camaro SS ran a 13.01 @ 107 , with intake and long tube headers... I believe a "flash" of some kind too.. He was hoping for 12.7-8 and got a 13.01, that MPH is about 5 mph slower than I saw the modded SS's going last time out though, but the car still preformed very well....

Z eliminator 07-08-2010 07:12 AM

Hot weather and heatjust kills the performance of the 370z.
It was really hard to run the 12.809 pass.
13.4 is a really good time for the conditions you ran in.

I just ordered another one, its a 3 in one fuse... And i popped the top off and cut the ABS fuse.. this way I will have no ABS and nothing to cut off my burnouts that I will do..

I have not actualy tried it yet, but in theory it should definatly work, 350 Im pretty sure has a solitary fuse for ABS but not us..

part number is 24370-c992b

its a 3 part fuse, one being the ABS

Chuck, did you order this from Nissan or somewhere else?

i did but it was a waste.. because all i had to do was pull the STOP LAMP fuse to do burnouts... which is by our feet...

jnaut 07-08-2010 03:22 PM

chuck, looks like you need an oil cooler! but still good times in that hot weather. how old are the et streets?

chuckd05 07-08-2010 10:11 PM

Pretty old purchased them used off a guy from my 350z. Saw posts of him using them well over a tear ago. They gripped really well yesterday .

Z eliminator 07-14-2010 05:25 AM

I was going to the track tonight but the weather is just too hot. Its gong to be another day with the humdex near 100 degress.
i want to see how the removng the brake fuse will improve burnouts and 60 ft tmes.

RCZ 07-14-2010 10:01 AM

burnouts only help when you have drag tires....street tires suffer a bit if you get them too hot with the burnout. Its better to just do a mini burnout if you're on street tires...

Thats what I heard anyway. Anyone wanna chime in on this?

Nitex 07-14-2010 10:18 AM

^ makes sense to some extent, OT hows the SC running RCZ.. had a chance to run it down the quarter yet?

RCZ 07-14-2010 11:07 AM

excellent...car's useless in the rain haha. No quarter. But I will soon!

True. If street tires are somewhat up to temperature....the water will evaporate quickly anyway (if you can't circle around the water box). I usually gave my street tires a quick spin to clean off the debris, and shake off excess water. Long burnouts will generally have a negative effect on street tires. Only the top tier street tires (star spec's, re-11's, AD08's, etc) handle high temps without getting excessively greasy. Of course those tires are sticky, but the sidewalls are way to stiff to be great straight line tires.

Sibze 07-14-2010 10:24 PM

Went to the track tonight with Z elim. Very bad day for it haha very humid (you could see the dampness on the cars!) best time tonight was 13.2?? (he will have to tell you the exact)

The best was though a 13.303 with the AC on haha nice!

Good time however as I said not good weather and the track wasn't right... Every few runs they were out trying to get the track right but it just wasn't there tonight!

A crazy 2011 Shelby mustang that had a lot done to it (not sure what was done could only tell from the sound, NOT stock) ran a 12 flat. So I would say a 13.2 was a good time!

Tonight was more about the burnouts for Steve which worked out really well - pulled the fuse.

I have some pics and vids I will post up over the next few days!
