Minimum preparation includes:
 Large Stillen oil cooler and oil thermostat
 Carbotech XP10 front pads, XP8 rear pads
 ATE brake fluid in brake and clutch hydraulic systems
 Nissan Ester oil.

In 95 degree heat at VIR, oil temp ran 225 – 230. No “limp mode” problems.

In similar heat at Watkins Glen, the clutch pedal would not fully return. That’s a sure sign of the stock hydraulic fluid beginning to boil. No problems afterward at VIR with fresh, high-temp brake fluid in clutch system.

Tire pressure 40 psi front, 34 psi rear, on track. Less understeer with modified tire pressures.

Driving on totally stock suspension and OEM Bridgestone RE050A tires. Car and tires now have 7,000 miles. That includes 10 track days. Tires have reasonable grip, wet or dry, for stock street tires.

Is your last name really Velocity? Cool if it is.

What part # do you use on your Carbotech pads. Carbotech is saying the sport and non sport model can use the same pads?

What times did you run at VIR?

I need a cool racing last name. Bigboner or something

HA HA HA HA ... good stuff

You can just call me Dr. Velocity, professor of speed.

I don't have the Carbotech boxes handy. I'd listen to the Carbotech guys, especially Mike Jr. I used to race with the whole family and they are top shelf speed merchants.

We weren't supposed to do lap timing, but based on my friends who were ... about 2:30 on the Full Course last week in very high heat (near record temps) and humidity. I suspect quite a bit better if cooler.

Datsun, eh? haven't heard anyone use that name in a while :icon17:

spearfish25 06-16-2010 07:31 PM

Dr. Velocity is showing his age with that Datsun label :)

didymus 06-16-2010 07:34 PM

What what? None of that!

I wonder if you could rebadge the 370 with datsun badges...

Jordo! 06-16-2010 07:39 PM

My girlfriend when I was 16 drove a Datsun... that back in 1988... :icon14:

And her car was at least 10 years old if memory serves...

^^^ Ah, then you missed out on driving around in old heaps like this :icon17:

I'm 99% certain that this was the exact model (give or take a year or two), and also pretty sure it was that shade of blue too...

That car was a spetacular hunk of sh!t :icon17:

Very nice! The picture with the two Porsches in front of you... I can't help but notice how much sexier the 370 looks. Maybe it's just the tired 911 look but I have noticed this a few times.
