I have the same slicks and skinneys on my 350, it drives straight as an arrow.
If you mix them you are begging for trouble.
Nice times.
I know AT LEAST 15 people who daily drive with this set up and are fine ranging from a turbo nitrous KA 240 to a built whipple cobra. They are ET STREETS for a reason.

Granted we're all drag racers I havent ever heard anyone complain about it beyond "i fukcing hate rain"

If its the tire I have than then they are out of their minds...

Mickey Thompson ET Streets are slicks with just the 4 lines of tread. They are Bias Ply.

They prob have the street drag radials which are radials tires.

I know people who use both the street radials are used more on the 11-12 second cars and high 9 to 10 second cars use the et streets claiming they dont go through as many tires cause they dont light up as easily

they are called ET Streets, but they are NOT meant for the street at all...

the ET Street RADIALS are meant for the street...

ET Street Radial = Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels

ET Street = Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels

CAUTION: It is not recommended that radial and non-radial tires be mixed on the same vehicle..

they are called ET Streets because they still qualify for use in street tire events at the track, but are not meant for street use at all. the ET Streets cause a swaying feeling when you get up to speed that I dont believe anyone would want to live with.. the et street radials should feel solid on the track and street... and still have the traction of the bias plys. Overall they are the tire to get, I just purcahsed the ET Streets ( slicks ) because the price was right and came with a set of wheels I could use too.

Traction isn't going to be the same. Drag radials work better on AT equipped cars because they have a more difficult time handling the shock of a MT. It takes a lot of finesse to launch a MT car with drag radials.

A properly driven camaro ss is a 12.8 car so our Cars don't beat "everything" stock.

What was your time that you got?

And I ran a 13.6 (2.2 60 foot) with street tires. 12.9 (1.9 60 foot ) with same mods and M/T ET Streets the next time, its all about the first 60 feet.. I think I can do a little better too. I did not do a burnout at all and didnt really figure out exactly how to launch perfectly , and than the sway from the slicks was impeading on my driving, its not a nice feeling riding on the et streets and something to get used to. I may sell these off to go with et street radials.

I have since gotten an OEM VLSD I think with my mods ( g3's, test pipes, stillen exhaust, stillen pulley, and uprev tune ), I can get a 12.8 MAYBE 12.7 with a 1.8 60 and some ideal conditions.
exactly yes 13.5s average ()Nismo()tectronic without the catback
no i mean stock of that day when i tested!

and what i meant about your test is did you test your car before you made your modifications to get a before and after timing?

on of the reasons im not making any major upgrade not is first because im not racing lol second to get a real change in speed you have to put big money into the car, and $1000 to $3000 is way to much just to get a half of a sec or so for me i want absolute secs when i make a changes like 13sec to 9sec with the cheapest cost

welll than supercharging or nitrous or turbo is the path you should take.. I am happy with being faster than the next Z by a few cars and the other cars in our class... our cars teater on the tip of being a fast street car and these mods i did I feel def pushed it more towards the tipping point of what I would call a fast car for the street..

stock we would have trouble with srt 8s camaro ss's now its a drivers race with most of them and that makes it more fun..

I think I may shoot her with a 100 shot when I go to the track this fall.. for *****.. I want to see what I can pull out of this car with 100 hp... and than I will decide on its future modifications

My car has not been running well latley. It feels slow, I ajusted the fuel settings with the cobb and will dyno before i go to the track. Im going to a different dyno that has an A/F read out on it.
I have that feeling that its not going to beat my 12.8009 run of last year.
Hey Z what wheel did you mount those on? I'm trying to find some wheels for my G37 to run that exact size drag radial. Sounds like you have Nittos.

imo you are better off with a taller sidewall tire on a smaller rim, it will weigh less as well..

i mounted mine of 300zx turbo wheels.. 26.5x10 on 16 inch wheels... the drag radials come in that size too..

But Z's wheels are mounted on Volk te37's i believe

I totally agree with going with a smaller diameter wheel. I tried test fitting my friend's wheel (17" from G35) on the rear of my car and it just barely hit the caliper. It looks like it would clear with a spacer. Too bad there aren't any 26x10.5x17 slicks. I contacted Bogart about making a custom wheel. I just have to find the time to take measurements.

Thanks guys. I can't go with a smaller wheel since my G has the Akebono's. I'll check out those Volk's.
