1/4 Times

My friend told me that the Z34 can do a sub-13 second 1/4 time. I'd really like to know who's done this, or is he just yanking my chain. I tried looking them up in the Review section, but the closest I've found is 13.3 .. ?

A full set on breathin tubes and an 8100rpm reflash might possibly, barely break you around 12.8 -12.9 quarter pretty consistantly. (12.8 bein generous, these type of mods usually help most at very high speeds and rpm's) Otherwise the only way a stock car might possibly break the 13 mark is downhill with VDC off. Lol
The average quarter range is 13.1-13.4. Maybe a really great driver on a perfect day on the most perfect road may see 13.0 flat??? ONLY with an auto tho. No manual will pull that off stock.

Someone has, I think multiple people have but I'm 100% sure that Z eliminator has at least.

justdrive 04-29-2010 09:46 AM

im talking stock though, the guy keeps walking around work telling me about my 12 second car, and im like "guy im pretty sure its low to mid 13s, but youre the one driving it"

Stock is going to be 13.1, maybe a very very rare 13.0 if all the right conditions.

justdrive 04-29-2010 09:51 AM

yeah, you know when youve done all your homework and know what youre talking about, but someone has the need to feed you the wrong info about YOUR OWN CAR.

welcome to my life.

and its not like i havent called the guy out either and corrected him. hes just so damn persistent.

kenchan 04-29-2010 09:57 AM

tell him its a 10 second car and you ownz him now.

justdrive 04-29-2010 10:06 AM

noted.

kenchan 04-29-2010 10:13 AM

you're no fun.

justdrive 04-29-2010 10:20 AM

haha sorry. i have a sarcastic sense of humor but not in that "dont-talk-to-me-im-an-*******-way". this guy is just relentless and he would probably believe that if i told him i had a CAI & tune.

kenchan 04-29-2010 10:25 AM

you should mount a faux hood scoop (mount it backwards) and tell him there's a twin turbo in there with massive intercooler. but you wont open the hood for him to see.

justdrive 04-29-2010 10:32 AM

id probably just tell him i did an engine swap with an ls9, because thatd make sense.

Here is the definative answer for your "informed" buddy.

Fast Nissan 370Zs 1/4 Mile 0-60 Drag Racing - DragTimes.com
The "#" sign identifies the car as stock configuration. Now with these early results, I believe someone with the right car on the right day at the right elevation at the right temp will break 13 flat, stock.

LMAO ! i dont think thats a definate answer I bet most people do not use that

my buddy ran a 13.0 @107 last night in his auto

first time ever at the track in his life with street tires second pass 13.0 @ 107

Drag tires are used on almost ALL the 350zs that get good times on that site, and they seem to be so proud of it. All i know is that the 370 times will blow 350zs times away in time. DEs Z's were 14 second cars for atleast a few years before good times started to come out of them and so on...

and in all honestly what percenttage of people do you think actualy post on dragtimes ? maybe 5%? prob even less. People will get the 370s down the track soon, especially with all the chit chat on these forums going on..

but to answer the OP's question.... I do not think its possible to run 13.0 or 12s stock unless conditions are perfect and you dont have stock rubber on there...

thats not your definate answer but my .02.
